On my bimini top I went to rural king and got 1/4” round lock pins to replace 1/4” mounting bolts. Rattles a little but in 10 seconds I can remove or install the bimini. Great video. Hope your having some luck on the water. I have the biggest skunk in the boat right now.

Hello 👋 Hagen, I happen to have a 36”x14’ dura craft John boat. Mine is a 1961 and tight as a drum. I was fortunate enough to have found it with the original trailer all in fantastic condition for $450. I fish alone and only go out on a small local lake. It’s a flooded timber lake and I only plan on using a trolling motor to get around. My fishing is going to be vertical fishing maybe some tips on that type of fishing? Nice setup. Keeping it simple and also I like the floats. I've kicked around the idea for some on my boat. I'm curious how much difference there is when you don't have the engine and gas tank on it. I fish some lakes that don't allow gas engines so I'd be curious if the floats would push the back end up to high without the weight.

Those Mercury motors (at least the older ones) seem to run forever if you take care of them.
I have a 1972 Mercury Thunderbolt 850 (85hp) that runs beautifully, it did have a new lower unit in 2008 and I rebuilt the carbs in 2018 plus a few other electronic parts, but the engine itself is original and the paint is even still pretty shiny.
But I will confess, I am old and the motor is old, so I normally only fish upriver from the launch, just in case. 😊

Great looking boat brother. That boat can be used in all kinds of waters. What size is that boat Hagen? I've been looking for a multi use smaller boat like that and that is definitely the perfect size for the smaller rivers i fish on from the bank.
