Those hood lifters are such a good mod, and very underrated. It just makes working on your car so much easier.

I think the orange side marker looks nicer. It gives it another color that makes the car pop.

Hood lifter is a great idea!

I prefer a stock height short throw shifter (not cheap, I got mine from MiataRoadster, but I'm sure there are other choices). Short shifters feel weird imo since I feel like my hand is inside the shifter area.

Is it just me or I like the Amber lights?

The orange markers are mandatory in certain situations. I'm not sure in the US but here in Canada it varies. (MTO regulations requires the cars to have specific shape, colors and placement but usually as long as the bulb emits amber or white color it should be Alright)

stock shifter on a miata is god's gift to the world, used to race them for a while and I've tried some of the fanciest short shifters you can find for them and I still went back to the OG. Perfect throw, great engagement. Brass bushing replacement is really the only thing that it needs in my opinion.

Don't forget that a shorter throw won't always make a faster shift, it's important to have the room to really KNOW where the gear shift is without having to think about it, and a reasonable amount of distance on the shifter provides a sort of, not sure if this is the proper way to word this but, tactile sensory interaction to feel where the gearshift is without having to even remotely second guess it.

Just my 0.02, I've done driving instruction on track for a while and the only thing I miss going from my NA miata to the FB RX7 is the gearshift, FB's shifter feels like a B series truck from the same year... probably because it is 😅

My #1 mod:
A really good wash and a detail. You can do that yourself just get a few Microfiber Towels, Meguiars Ultimate Black for plastic trim and some ceramic spray wax sealant for the paint. Meguiars has a good one but ive used Sonax Xtreme Ceramic and it transforms the paintwork.

I found a set of rubber mats at Moss Miata that fit my 01 car perfectly. I like the rubber ones because they hold up very well, stay in place well and you can literally hose them off when they get dirty. They stink for the first week or two though, especially in hot climes like Florida.

Fun fact - miatas have basically short shifter from factory so it's not much different than placebo especially in 110 -138hp car. No hate, Saying as a fellow owner of an NB2.

Clear side markers look like clear/chrome taillights did in the 2000s.

Thing about prop-rods, there is usually the secondary slot that allows you to open the hood at 90°+.

Those clear sidemarkers make a huge difference to the look and the shifter must make changing gears smoother than before! 😊

I think changing “miata” to “roadster” makes it look like a bootleg
