I love this box art because it has so many elements we'd never see in another mario game. We got:

-Another mario in a submarine
-Another mario in an airplane
-Flying purple wizard guy
-Cat flying a UFO

-🗿 with wings
-🗿 throwing a rock
-Samus Eater
-Fire-breathing sphinx
-bird with a helmet
-Yellow peach
-Octillary from Pokemon (which didn't even exist at the time) (or maybe it's a water octorock)

Literally, quite literally, i got to this point and blew some 20 lives just trying to kill this SOB. Dude takes more hits than any other major boss alone in the Mario series. Up to this point its been jump over Bowser. SMB 1, 2, & 3 the bosses have been FAIRLY simple. This jacka$$ decides, no, I'm gonna be the straw that breaks the camels back. Enter Tatanga. Solution to defeat him? Break and bruise both thumbs button mashing like your life depends on it.

The intro sounds kinda like Super C in boss battle

Too bad you don’t get to hear half of this since you’re constantly evading and shooting Tatanga’s fireballs*.

(In the fan game New Super Mario Land, it was decided that those projectiles were fireballs instead of indescribable power shots.)
