Shiny Hunting Guide - DexNav Chaining in Pokemon ORAS

How to find Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon ORAS.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have introduced a new way to shiny hunt, called “DexNav Shiny chaining”, I’ve been experimenting and it seems to work, so here’s how to shiny hunt in PokemonORAS.

The only video I've found that explains chains do not break if you encounter a different Dexnav pokemon, others said that you gotta run from it, but that actually breaks it, thanks 👌

Very cool, this seems to be much easier than chaining them in X and Y. In those games I always messed up the chain by going into a wrong patch of grass. I did eventually catch a shiny but it took me a LONG time.
And in this case you actually get to directly choose which one you want to hunt for!
But it does reduce the "value" of catching a shiny... Before these chaining techniques breeding for a shiny gave you the best odds but it still took bloody ages and a ton of dedication, not to mention a foreign Pokerman for the Masuda Method. But hey, they are still special and it gives people like me who don't have a ton of free time the opportunity to actually get a shiny^^

brilliant video Blunty, I'm attacking my first Pokemon game in almost 14 years so its been a while!!! just started playing Omega Ruby and so far only a couple hours in but already rekindled the Pokemon capturing love. thanks again for the video.

I still remember my first ever shiny encounter. Level 2 Shiny Geodude in Soul Silver, was out in public at a resturant, spilt my drink when i found it... and it was a random encounter as well on my first playthrough of the game! :3

ok so I get the IDEA of chaining. that is the easy part. I chained for anhour or so on kakuna. no shiny *rages*
 
 anyways I have a better suggestion for reactivating the chain instead of walking in circles: holding down the b button on the acro bike. I have tested and it does work

I'm running a very similar Gallade false swiper, the only difference I have is that I went dedicated catching, and traded the psycho cut you have for hypnosis, so I have something I can use on pokemon that are immune to thunder wave. I'm also considering building a mega pinsir false swiper for the sake of false swipe against ghost types.

The Hoenn region has always been my favorite since I got emerald on my GBA so many years ago. Now they're updating the game, with omni-directional movement, 3D models, and attack animation!? Hell yeah! Sign me up for one, just shut up and take my money! I has a problem has no money T^T I also don't have a 3DS, would much rather buy a NEW 3DS though now that it's need a job....and a driver's license....and a car to drive....dammit!

Whilst watching this video I was playing Pokemon X, going through friend safari and checking out the three that you can get, I was in a normals one. And saw a yellow, shiny, hoothoot. Freaked out for a second. Your vid gets a favourite from me and thanks for the shiny HootHoot :3

I encountered up to 4 shiny's but only 1 of them was in X version which was a shiny wingull which was the third encounter, the 1st one was in my Dimond version which was an Onix, the second one was a shiny blue strip Baskculin, the fourth and final encounter was a shiny male Tranquil which I evolved into an Unfesent which was in Pokemon Black version 1 same with the Baskculin.

Quick Balls are also useful for just about any pokemon that won't run away. Never hurts to try a one-turn capture.

Just gonna quickly brag. I caught a shiny Ditto using this technique the other week on my 205th encounter in a single chain, which took about 3 days of me searching on and off for one. It was pretty great. Definitely turned me off the game for a couple of weeks though.

I honestly wished the Dex Nav was in Pokemon Sun and Moon. It was so good in ORAS, why oh why didn't they include it in 7th generation? Maybe in Ultra Sun and Moon? Please Nintendo? :D
