“I’ll smack you so hard you’ll regenerate.”

Clara was this close to turning him into Jodie Whittaker right then and there

“I’ll smack you so hard you’ll regenerate.” One of Clara’s best lines.

Am I the only one who loves the audacity Clara shows just to shut down the tardis engines and leaves The Doctor bewildered

My favorite thing about this scene. Is it really sets up S9. It shows that he really listened to her. Because in S9, he’s always there for her. He’s always making sure she’s ok. He always has her back, he doesn’t leave her alone like that. He listened to her, and that’s so powerful.

I love how the Doctor seemed genuinely confused. It somehow made him feel so much more human and yet so much more alien at the same time.

Capaldi acted it brilliantly.

This was a really strong scene, especially for their character dynamic. Part of me thinks this would have been a fitting ending for Clara.

When Rose kissed the ninth doctor they made a statement that this show was going to go places the old show didn't, but for the following years they just had this endless list of companions falling in love with the doctor or companions defined only by the fact they didn't fall in love with the doctor. This scene breaking the relationship between her and the doctor and the awkwardness for the episodes after was brilliantly done and a new direction

I never cared for Clara "The Impossible Girl" Oswald, but I quite liked Clara "Tell Me What You Knew Or I'll Smack You So Hard You'll Regenerate" Oswald.

I love this scene. I love Jenna's acting in this scene and the tiny microexpressions as she reacts to the Doctor's "rubbish" time and again. I think she absolutely had a right to be angry and I wish we could see a little more of the time between this episode and the next.

The Whittaker era was completely missing scenes like this. Scenes like this were the show maturing and reflecting on itself. It's a big part of why Capaldi is my favourite doctor

I love how this scene exemplifies the intention of using a companion for the doctor. Not only is the audience able to connect with someone who is relatable but acts as the voice of reason for an actual alien, a symbol of the doctors connection to humanity and empathy.

Clara's relationship dynamic with this incarnation is an example where the doctor has some kind of God complex and manipulation of humanity has gone a tad too far even for himself. This is the perfect opportunity for Clara to have called him out on his behavior which in the long run provided a means for the 12th doctor to undergo some much needed character development, and connect with humans at a deeper level.

i loved clara. she was so real. she had the capacity to get angry with the doctor and wasn't always star-struck by him. i miss her.

Say what you will about Clara but Jenna Coleman is a great actress. Some of the most realistic crying I've ever heard

I don't know why people think this makes Clara a bad character. This makes her fantastic. The whole of Series 8 revolved around her and the Doctor's fading relationship, and I thought it was a great arc.

"Tell me what you knew Doctor or else I'll slap you so hard you regenerate". I'd actually like to see that.

Hey Doctor, remember that time you were forced to choose between humanity and an alien and you got super pissed and promised to kick Amy out of the TARDIS? Clara didn't appreciate this experience any more than you did.

I have to say, you can really feel the emotions in this scene. She is really ticked off and rightfully so. I got chills from this scene

I always liked how clara knew what certain controls on the tardis did, just a little detail to show how long she's been travelling with the Doctor.

I actually love this scene.

Both actors play into these characters so well.

Capaldi shows how out of touch the Doctor can be and it hurts cuz it’s just how misunderstood he is.

Clara then shows the severity of what he’s done as well.

It’s actually heartbreaking.

Season 8 was when I finally started to like Clara. She became a person. And this episode was so powerful, just bravo to Jenna for her performance here and double goes for post-Danny death when she threatens to destroy the TARDIS keys.
