The only Dalek to successfully kill the Doctor

This Dalek appeared out of nowhere at the end of The Stolen Earth and scored a glancing hit on the Doctor, causing him to regenerate, before it was destroyed by Captain Jack. What's to be said about this Dalek? Let's find out.

Davros seemed quite keen to have The Doctor captured and delivered to him as part of Dalek Caan's "prophecy", so then imagine that this Dalek didn't even know he was exterminating The Doctor, just another human on the run.

I love that there's several daleks that had ample opportunity to exterminate the doctor but they just didn't for plot convenience. E.g. the first flying dalek in Rememberance that is so overwhelmed with excitement it just keeps shouting exterminate without actually firing a shot 😂

The fact that a single simple Dalek was able to kill the Doctor, shows just how much more powerful this empire was.
Alternatively, it wasn't in a position to be talked out of it by its superiors.
The Emperor's Daleks tried to shoot the Doctor, but he had a shield.

Considering the 12th Doctor saved young Davros, everything up to that point is a bit wibbly wobbley, timey wimey, to ensure the Doctor survives till that moment, and since the meta crisis doesn't happen if the Dalek didn't shoot the Doctor, the Doctor needed to be shot.

Side note: I find it funny that actually hitting the Doctor ended up with the Daleks losing.

I think this was just a poetic demonstration on how much the Doctor genuinely cared about Rose. He’s more than accustomed to dodging Dalek lasers at this point, but he was so happy to see Rose again that he let his guard down, resulting a Dalek to do the one thing that millions of other Daleks have failed to do time and time and time again.

I imagine with a transmat, that even when Jack isn't fully materialised yet as he is coming through he can hear and kinda see what is going on like half a second before he is fully materialised.

I can't get over how dumb that moment is when Jack appears and fires immediately 🤣 would have made so much more sense if Rose had shot the dalek in retaliation tbh 🤷‍♂️

The way Jack knew to fire as soon as he teleported is obviously the same way Rose's dad knew to teleport and catch her before she fell in the void

It’s actually really important that Jack killed that specific Dalek because if that Dalek had happened to report this information then they would probably just send one Dalek to stalk him and shoot whenever he happened to be walking down the road.
