Thanks for the video! I did need to use the black ground wire to the chassis on my car to get a proper signal on the camera, but otherwise everything is working perfectly and the CANBUS automatically detects when it's in reverse. No need for any wires to the reverse lights. Appreciate the guide!

Great video. I would however recommend making a Y joint out of cable matching the power required. Using bullet connectors to join it all together, With female being the live end of connection. I have worked on a few cars where splicing cables has resulted in burnouts and in extreme cases, even fires. It is rare but always a risk.

If the vehicle has canbus does the reverse trigger wire still need to be wired to the reverse light to trigger reverse or can it be powered using the 12v ant blue cable on the stereo wiring?

My wire also is pink on the wire adapter and marked as backup camera but it is not working at all when put in reverse so I’m gonna check to see if it’s the 3rd wire if not I’ll connect to whatever the 3rd wire is and hopefully it will rectify my problem. Thanks for this video I’ve been searching for almost two months for an answer a this is closest I got I hope this helps me. I will come back to let you know 😮

This is a very simple installation, but I prefer to route the cable better and also through the back door rubber instead of along it. Takes a bit more time but gives less problems in the future.

Does your pink wire from the aftermarket wire harness also connect to the pink wire of the factory wire harness as to why you had to splice the wire in the middle as opposed to simply connecting and crimping the camera and aftermarket wire harnesses together???

I have a different model of the head unit, where can I access that menu? There is no such menu on my device?! MT8163 it says, RS8577 also
