gotta agree with that. Why do some people call Jupiter a failed star it is not even massive enough to actually become a brown . If Jupiter is a failed star then it's mass should be 13-80 Jupiter masses but it's not

IDK why people say that. The smallest failed stars are still roughly 13X Jupiter's mass. Jupiter isn't a failed star, it's a very successful planet

For the smallest stars, I take it you are referring to Red Dwarfs, but what is the minimum mass for something to become a Brown Dwarf, which some would some would consider to be a sort of "substar"?

Jupiter is not a failed star.Because other stars he needs to be eighty times massive and other dwarf Stars are still eighty times massive And you would need to collect hydrogen fusion
