What If Jupiter Collided With the Smallest Star?

The biggest planet in the Solar System. And the smallest star in the known Universe. Today, they are on a collision course. EBLM J0555-57Ab is a red dwarf and the smallest star we've ever discovered. Jupiter is huge. It's about 11 times larger than Earth. But because it's mostly made of hydrogen, it's not massive enough to be a star. So what would happen if these two giants collided?

Wait…. If that smaller star -57AB star took over the space of Jupiter, wouldn’t the asteroids then be gravitated to that dwarf star and still not hit earth??? I mean that’s the least of the issue as adding another star in the system will bring on a whole other set of issues but not the asteroids from the asteroid belt. Any clarity is greatly appreciated 🥹

If this actually happens, make sure to send a cameraman to capture the whole thing. He wouldn’t die anyway

Jupiter is like our big brother, always protecting us.

I like it how you showed us what would happen if Jupiter and the smallest star know to us collided but than told us we'd be hit by almost 200 meteors, comets etc. every day. If EBLM J0555-57Ab really happen to collide with Jupiter in some mysterious way, it wouldn't have just disappeared - instead of Jupiter's gravity protecting us from space rocks, it would, as it would start to orbit the Sun.

After absorbing Jupiter, wouldn't the rogue red dwarf star do as much as Jupiter to "mop up" the comets, performing the same function? Or even do a better "mop up" job because the star is more massive?

"Because its made mostly of hydrogen, its not massive enough to be a star" <- that doesn't make sense, as stars are formed from hydrogen too. So it being made of hydrogen doesn't make it not massive enough. What makes it not massive enough is that there isnt't enough hydrogen.

I saw Jupiter today, he was really bright and there were no clouds in turkey so it was easy to see it

What if idea: What if all of the planets lost their moons and rings. I watched all your videos. They never let my expectations down. Your videos always improve. Please do take this comment in mind and make this suggestion into your next unbelievable video. I watched all of your videos. Please leave a like to this comment.

There's a chance that Pluto will be driven by the new star's gravitational pull, which might allow it to regain its title as a planet again.

you should do what would happen if the oceans were replaced with sparkling water! I would really appreciate it :)

Wait, if the star replaces Jupiter, wouldn't _less_ asteroids be coming to us?
Edit: wtf so many comments and likes??

People always forget that the Oort Cloud is so far away, that even if it *as* disturbed, the incoming comets would take an incredibly long time to reach the inner solar system

Him: without Jupiter there would be hundreds of astroids hitting earth

The sun that's in Jupiter's spot: am I a joke to you?

Any red/brown dwarf star entering our solar system will actually transform into gas giant due to losing their mass in massive cometary flaring and powerful electromagnetic interactions with the Sun and eventually it will be captured into orbit by Sun.

I don't get why asteroids and comets would all of a sudden start hitting Earth when the Red Dwarf has a greater gravity than Jupiter. Seems like we'd be getting hit by less
