Could Jupiter Become a Star?

preview_player
Показать описание
If Jupiter suddenly decided to keep growing, it would eventually become a star, for example, a red dwarf. And its composition would allow this planet to do it. Red dwarf Jupiter could prevent the inner planets from following their orbits – because they wouldn't be able to find a balance between the gravitational forces of the two stars. The planets would move either closer to the Sun or closer to the newly formed red dwarf. What would it mean to our Earth?

Before i watch it, short answer is no, unless someone pushes another 80 or so planets of the same mass into it

You guys spelled planet wrong. You guys instead said Palnet

No, although it was previously thought that the solar system was supposed to be a binary star system. But as the other gas giants were formed it took mass away from jupiters area.

More possible if venus becomes 709× bigger than Jupiter, right.

The more realistic type is becoming a brown dwarf with the mass of 14 Jupiters even though it would need to eat Neptune Saturn and all the other gas giants and still needs to capture a bunch of rouge planets
