Btw, contrary to many beliefs, a keto diet doesn' make you lose weight faster. You simply lose glycogen and the water (a lot...) bonded to it, no way you lose more fat than a plant-based or healthy omminvore diet (for the same calories deficit)

I tried a Keto diet for one month and GAINED 3 lbs. Maybe I didn't give it a long enough chance, but I decided it wasn't for me.

I had tried diets all my life but keto really works the best for me. The weight just falls off of me. I am in my 60's & could never lose weight on veggies. I am still not a big meat eater. I dont like meat that much.

My Father who is in his 70's and was over 100lbs overweight has lost 62 lbs on a Keto based diet. He is being monitored by a Cardiologist, and once he gets to the weight goal, he will be weaned off Keto and transition into a slightly different diet. Keto if I am not mistaken was originally developed for people with epilepsy. Being in "Ketosis" is a medical condition. So if your going to do Keto, please be under a Dr's care while doing so. BUT with all that said, the Dieto DOES work. I am trying very hard for my Parents to transition to a whole food plant based diet for years, I was on a whole food plant based diet for 5 yrs, and honestly was so sick and tired of veggies looking at them made me nauseous. So I now include chicken and as little dair as possible. I do believe the whole food plant based is a very good diet, if you can tolerate the veggies ( have issues with Broccoli, Cauliflower, and some legumes) and don't mind eating the same things over and over and over and over and over. I also noticed some recipes have ingredients that I have never heard of, like certain spices and veggies that I couldn't even find in my local Grocery Store. So just do what you feel you can tolerate. Dr McDougall will be missed. He was definitely a man ahead of his time. 🙏

Note he doesn't give his source of Atkins having plaque and stiffening of the arteries.

A doctor dealing in locker room gossip
then he points out he's the virtuous one...geez John,
get over your childish self.

Not exactly holding to high medical professional standards.
