Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - Just a Burnout? Pt. I

Disclaimer:

This video is not meant to be a criticism of the medical profession. I myself have had excellent, but unfortunately also negative experiences with doctors.

This video is exclusively about the cases that unfortunately still happen: Gaslighting, especially of young women, in doctors' offices, false diagnoses based on invalid reasoning. This and only this is what I want to highlight.

I have great respect for the medical profession, psychiatry - including psychosomatics - and its professionals.

This video is about the question of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) as a mental disorder.

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Part I deals with the correct diagnosis.
It shows that invalid arguments (logical fallacies) can wrongly lead to a psychosomatic diagnosis.

Guests tell me about their experiences with wrong diagnoses that dismiss a diagnosis with ME/CFS - which would have been the correct diagnosis.

Crazy how the NIH states this is a neuroimmunological disease since 60 years and some dorks still think its psychosomatic and about being tired

October 1986 I started ME, but didn't know what it was
35 years later at 78 years old. Thing get worse. No relief just constantly adjusting on an hourly basis, day to day changing day

Well, i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2000. I have had this illness for 40 years. I can remember when it started. The only advice i got from my doctor was to rise and go to bed at the same time every day. 😢 i was given a stairlift for my home and had my bath replaced with a shower. That is the extent of help that i received from the government body. Also the usual medication. Im distraught. I was given fenytnal and feel like i slept for 20 years which i can remember nothing of those years. I feel like those years have been stolen from my lifetime. 😢🎉 it was good to see you speak in this post. Thank you for doing what you do. Take

Thank you Martin, nice to see Vlad in your video too! ME has suffered the perfect storm of institutional, political and individual failures and falls prey to the worst sides of human psychology - the cognitive miser, reluctance to question authority/status quo and the tendency to blame the individual.

ME should not longer be mentioned with Burnout and Depression. Most people just read titles! I understand the content but people who don't know anything about ME will keep the ambiguity. That's why we should not compare no longer with psychological disorders. Thanks.

Your Videos are great, but lets hope people don't confuse this just by the title too much.

Can you do a video where you show the immunologic dysfunctions and abnormalities in ME in contrast to it being a 'psychological' disease?

Hallo Martin, schön zu sehen, dass es dir nun ein wenig besser geht. Wie hast du es geschafft dahin zu kommen? Was hat dir dabei geholfen?

Habe dich gerade in der Hirschhausen Doku gesehen und bin daher auf deinen Kanal aufmerksam geworden.

Mach bitte weiter so mit deiner Aufklärungsarbeit. Alles Gute 🍀

It's the freeze response of the burnout, so under the fight or flight state. Very hard to recover from, but it's possible. Daniel van Loosbroek did it and he had a free program to recover, but it changed to paid since he had to make a living. It's a deeply emotional and long process though.

Just a burnout? What an insulting question!
