It's a useful distinction. One may be able to control visible compulsions while continuing to cave in to ritualistic mental compulsions like CRAZY.

I have religuous ocd for the past 10 years. So i hate god very much. I used to feel that whatever I am doing, iam offending god. But few days back my mother did a fast for god to cure me and the situation has gotten worse. My whole theme has changed Now everything i do, i feel like god is helping me to do this thing especially when i study. So i started to avoid studying because my mind just dont want to take god help and like this iam ruining my life. When i study i feel like, god is controlling me like a puppet and i dont like this feeling . I know, its very complicated. So if i continue to study, will this feeling ever go? Please help sir

What about non fearful obsessions / Rumination . I mean I sometimes used to Ruminate on ideological thoughts or white/black thinking just by coming across some movies or books which reflected them
