Best way of doing skullcrushers is the way John meadows did them: with dumbells, which allows each side to move individually. This is definitely a good tip but the way john did them is pretty genius

It might be best to do these with dumbbells so the range of motion is more natural. People get hurt when they force the joints to move in an unnatural way.

Its also good to warm up the triceps first by doing some cable pushdowns or other lighter tricep exercises to get the blood flowing and warm up the arms/triceps before doing skullcrushers. Otherwise decent tips especially the keeping the arms strictly to the side. I've let my elbows flare out a little and it feels much better. As for where to lower just gotta feel it out and see what works best. Everyone feels it best in a different spot whether above the neck, nose, forehead or above the head etc. Dumbbells also work well too of course.

Thing is, light weight is very very easy and I can do 30 reps of it. But as soon as I add 5kg it hurts my elbows. I can still do 20+ reps but my elbow hurts. Any tips anyone. I wanna go heavier to the point where I can only do 10-15 reps but that weight would hurt my elbows to much 😢

Wow, this has to be cause of damn elbow pain that will not go away. I've been doing skull crushers with Elbows way in, really feel it in tricep, but bad for Elbows. Thanks, if I do them, I'll keep my Elbows out like you showed!!

Best way to do them is the way/angle In which it's least bothered. For me is slight incline above the head

I like these, ego is the cause of all my injuries. Now i find that sweet spot and rep it. My favourite is seated overhead dumbbell extensions

I though it was clear that during your tricep workout A Skullcrusher never comes first.
You need your elbows warm by doing extensions first ect, and no need to lock out either.
Just get a deep stretch, come up just high enough but don't lock out or straighten your arms.

I hope you reply… for the last 3-4 weeks I have been unable to connect with triceps on any exercise even if I go light… I keep getting pain behind the elbow….

What can I do to resolve this please and re connect with triceps x

I'm a 16 year old girl. I use 3kg dumbbells for this move. I apply it in the form of 4×20, but towards the end of the sets, pain occurs in my forearm, hands and wrists. Should I use lighter weights?

Brother I used to do skull crusher and and now I got permanent pain on the outside of my elbow and I can't even use my left tricep

Wrong advice. 35 to 45 degree pitch on bench and don't go to forehead like this so called teacher. Go a few inches over your head to keep a constant state of contraction. Why this dude going to forehead just reinforces his lack of knowledge. I've got 27 years training clients so beleive what u want.
