Jerry Hall, The limiter is a normally closed switch so it should have continuity at room temperature. You would have to look at the unit's wiring diagram to see which terminals comprise that switch.

Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge. I have a question. I followed your instructions on how to test the burner for continuity and am getting continuity. No breaks or burn marks in the coil either. I know for a fact that the infinite switch is good. So, where do I go from here?

I have a GE R B757B B1WH Elec range. The"Clean" light is coming on when I try to turn the oven on and set a temp. The oven door isn't locked. Stove top is working.The broiler is working. The oven element tested good. Im stumped!

I see the limiter is encased in glass and my liliter is broken at the end where it meets the center. Can yhe limiter be changed?
