HOOKGRIP or FULL Grip

Do we always use hookgrip in Olympic Weightlifting? We use hookgrip for movement below the shoulder and most of the time, full grip for above shoulder.

I was never able to use the hook grip because of my small hands, your alternative is a game changer for me, no one ever showed me that way and the hook grip finally feels good now ! Thank you so much

So THAT is how such heavy weight is managed. "Hook grip". Here I have been trying to do this using "arm strength". So this is all just a "parlour" trick.
So I get no forearm development from "hook grip"? I'm more impressed with the guy using arm strength. I'm working on achieving 200 lb using "arm strength". I'm going to stick with GRASPING it.. not clasping it. No wonder!
