Truth… always got yelled at by my coaches for not… just never felt comfortable. So I still overhand grip… made great gains with it… just need to have great grip strength to not have hook grip…

Perfect timing! Ok sir, so I've started using the hook grip (for everything - snatch, DL, clean etc.) about oh 2 years ago. While it certainly helps, I am now in the position where I can't even begin to grip an intermediate weight. Pulled 4 sets of 3 w/ the hook grip in my DL today. And could ONLY pull about 4 or 5 with the standard grip it 135 before my grip would become fatigued. And now I am sad! What do I do? I think I will just start to do mkre repetitiins at a lower weight and focusing on form while only occasionally lifting heavy w/ hook grip

This guy has given me more and better advice on this type of exercise than any of the used car salesmen errrr fitness instructors hocking their “special program” at the gym.
