in Turkish we use "özür dilerim" and "afedersiniz" while apologizing, it doesn't matter which one do you prefer. It's completely different from English

For “Excuse me”

In Canada, we often say, "sorry", instead of, "excuse me"! For example, if we are passing someone too closely in a crowded restaurant...

When sir or medam is explaning the lesson in between if we get a doubt first we will ask "excuse me" sir then we will ask our doubt and we will clarify it. And in between if we make any noise and disturb class we will say "sorry".

Well, yes in general terms depending on the country. If you go to England, you need to use sorry most of the time as "excuse me" could be considered rude. If you are sorry (1st example) you say, "I'm so sorry or I'm very sorry" 😜 cultural differences!
