It’s always the people with the old crusty ass faucets that say they want the cartridges replaced instead of getting a new one. Then they’re calling you back a week later because their POS faucet is leaking again after putting in new cartridges.

It ain’t overcharging. It’s called overhead. And fyi. Most the time the set screws are stripped or the valve itself has scale build up. It’s cheaper and easier to just replace the faucet

Repair is not guaranteed but replacing it is guaranteed and I can guarantee how long it’s gonna take can never guarantee how long a foster repair is gonna take and what if it doesn’t work out and you can’t fix it you’re gonna fix it and then come back again and then they’re gonna be pissed

It's called a Tap Gland.
Tap catridges mix hot and cold used in TMVs and TMV showers.

It’s usually the small rubber washer on the underside - held in by a small screw. Suuuuper cheap - they sell washer kits with hundreds of these washers in it. IT’S NOT AN O-RING. lol

plumbers over charge? Its work. you think the fuel to get there, the travel time and fuel to run and get the pats and the rags, grease and ware+tear on tools shouldnt count toward price?

It's not about the charge, its about time wasted and worth. You can go to 4 year school and buy over priced tools like I need To get my job done. I didnt ask the manufacturer to price the POS tool at 2k.

My time with tool wear and tear is 100/hr and depending on the job and person 3hr min. I might charge less if they are really strapped but I can't keep givivng out hand outs if people still want a plumber or whatever trade to keep their city running.

If people can do the job and do it right and by code do it. Depending on the job I can talk and work with the client and education them in how to do it next time. If they can't or that they rather trade money for service time, that's why we have trades people. Not to say we don't have shitty brothers and sisters, then again whos work place is perfect enough that they dont have no one they hate.
