I'm on a mission to give you the facts about what you're spending money on in the fitness industry. There is so much gear, supplements, and gadgets around that are super tempting to buy, but do you NEED them and are they WORTH it??

That's what we're trying to figure out!

Today I'm breaking down the pros and cons of the Oura Ring and Whoop band. I've been a long time Whoop user, so I probably have a few biases, but that didn't keep me from ripping them a new one for the issues they haven't worked out yet.

Oura Ring is a new wearable for me and I have a LOT to say after wearing it for a month.

So do you need either of these products and which is better? Watch the video to find out!

I've been using an Oura ring to exclusively track my sleep for the past six months or so and have found the data consistently useful. The largest selling point of the ring was, as you stated, that it wasn't a subscription based product. Unfortunately with their new generation ring, they are introducing a mandatory subscription, which I personally think is the wrong move considering how high the upfront cost of the product is.

Great video Sam! I think I will save my money, doesn't seem like I need either. Although, I would love to have the sleep info.

I think it's great that you review this stuff seriously since most fitness folks just shove things into my face and tell me how absolutely awesome the products are and that I definitely need them. Honestly, I think that you don't really *need* any of that stuff. I don't believe that I can't push myself and make progress just because I don't have twenty-three different items. Unfortunately, the fitness industry wants you to believe that.

apparetenly Oura ring will now be subscription based on top of paying that $300

I live a very active lifestyle but most of my specific workout are strength based. From what I can tell, this takes both of these out of the running. Oura because it could get damaged and Whoop because it won't be accurate. I really want a wearable so I can make the best decisions for my body and recognize the impacts of day-to-day life but it doesn't seem like there is a good option for me? How is that possible? Hoping you know of something I don't!
