Any effects felt by us are immediate and fixable within 2 years. The damage to russia could take decades to sort out. Russian people will still get there western products via Dubai for the rich or Kazakhstan for the gopniks wanting addidas. The Chinese will want a discount on their purchases and will be hesitant to pay for pipeline infrastructure after watching Putin use it as an instrument for blackmail.

Russia and Ukraine are engaged in a kinetic war with losses on both sides, the outcome of this war is currently unclear. Likewise the West and Russia are engaged in an economic war, the difference here is that the West has far deeper pockets and can sustain losses that would cripple Russia.
