when I went to pick up my car they added an additional $400. Explained to me that was a charge they added to all cars, it was to clean off all the cars on the lot. Laughed in his face, didn't go through with the sale.

A sales man literally ask me today what do I have to do to earn your business. I said show me the invoice, inspection log sheet, and give me the interest at buy rate. He was stuck. Lol

Went to buy a car today first question, are you an MSRP friendly dealership? Answer yes great. I'll take the car... We can't sell it to you unless you come in.... But you're 4 hours away.... The whole idea was to get me to drive four and a half hours to change the price after I invested the time to go there. Fortunately I did not invest that time, they revealed their upcharges to me after I filled out the financing application. The dealership had the intention of screwing over my day dragging me four and a half hours away from home so that they could surprise me with fees. I reported this conduct to the manufacturer and and left reviews on both Facebook and Google.

I have walked out of more than one dealership. The first BS I hear, they get a warning, the second I walk.

A dealer told my wife they use a special calculator when she couldn’t figure out who they arrived at their numbers. 🤣

Hendrick Toyota wanted to add on $5k BUT included a bunch of add-ons I DID NOT want on my truck. They wouldn’t budge- I did. I walked out.

I was a car salesman and hated every minute of it. I worked with sleazy salespeople and my finance manager tried to wreck some of my deals by sitting on the paperwork. He ALWAYS SAID “What do I need to do to earn your business”. I trusted him about as far as I could throw him!

Used Chevy 4x4, $12, 000. Test drove, engine light came on. Dealer said, low antifreeze, topped off. 2nd testdrive, light came on again. Dealer lied again. Cracked head, $3000 estimate. Walked away, didn't buy. Crooked dealer.

I recently (five years ago) bought my first new car and I was pushing pretty hard because I thought that they were trying to screw me over and I left the dealership and they actually called me back and we came to an agreement on the price that I liked and when I went back in the sales person said to me, you know we’re not in business to lose money on a car sale. My response was oh my goodness no if you’re losing money, I don’t want that to happen. Give me the keys to my old car I will leave immediately. Needless to say they stopped me.

When I picked up my Yukon in September the dealership told me I had to pay $895 for ceramic clear coating. Never even asked me if I wanted it just added it to the bill. I refused and was ready to walk finally the store manager overrode the sales manager and removed the charge. Even worse they never even put the coat of wax on there after I waxed it I noticed how much smoother it was, complete rip off.

My favorite as a buyer is to find the best price absolutely possible in the area, and even outside of the area…then email my closest dealer that I have this price and I’m going to buy it, but I thought I’d give them the opportunity to match or beat the price. Then, I’ll email that price to the original one I was looking at and say the same thing. If they ask which dealer it is, I just tell them it’s nearby and I have no problem going to buy it from the other one. The dealerships don’t need to know who I’m talking about for their competition. 99% of the times, I’ve gotten thousands off like crazy because neither wants to ‘lose’ the sale to the other one. These dealerships have zero problems yanking my chain and fleecing customers, I have zero problem pitting them against one another to fight for my business :)
