That bit at the end when the guy's arm went up? Kind of felt like him going "It's okay... You did your best, doc. Help someone who can live."

This was one of the saddest deaths from a patient I’ve seen from the show. Dr. Choi did everything could 😞

My dad was taken off a vent during the pandemic because there weren't enough and he wasn't improving after 11 days in the icu with covid. The doctors cried. I don't think they'd ever had to make a decision like that. My dad was a retired cop though, and he wouldn't have wanted someone else to die when he wasn't going to make it.

Poor guy he was really scared. Dr Choi really does connect to his patients.

The tear..doctor Choi knew he had to let him go, but he didn’t want to accept it, he’s a doctor, his job is to save people, not give up and let them go. He did everything he could, he tried to save him, he tried to make sure he’d be able to say goodbye to the love of his life, but not even the best doctor in the entire world would be able to, with not enough ventilators, there’s only so much a doctor can do. 😢

That broke my heart when the guy his hand went up touching the doctor "it's okay...you did your best at least tell my wife I loved her and I wanted to say goodbye" 😢 💔

Wow, that one legit brought tears to my eyes. The burned man touching his arm to say "It's okay. Let me go." It makes me wonder though, do hospitals really run out of things like ventilators?

I was a burn nurse in the Army and this episode really hit home for me.

They should have let him dictate a letter to his wife when he could have, early on. That would have been better than nothing. Plus they should have told his wife how hard he fought to hold on to see her and tell her what, I imagine, she already knew, that he loved her.

Man, imagine if the wife had come in last second to only hear the flatlining, that would have been so much more heartbreaking.

If i was the doctor I would have suggested recording a message for her if she didn't make it in time

This sort of thing is the reason Dr. Choi is one of my favorite characters. He's so incredibly selfless.
Also, props to his actor because damn was this heartbreaking. That tear got me.

RT here. One of the worst things is not having enough ventilators. The patient theoretically would have been okay if he was able to breathe on his own, he can just breathe through the bagger. The problem is, you can't stay on the bagger long-term because in addition to having a filter for bacteria/viruses, you're not giving any humidity back to the patient. The key to treating severe burns is fluid resuscitation and also ensuring that the air they breathe has water and heat. So I really feel for Dr. Choi and his patient 😔

I've been really missing these emotionally challenging situations in the recent seasons, the early seasons were so good.

I love Brian Tee. Prior to CMed, I only known him as the extras, the supporting role, the side goon, the token asian bad guy. But as Dr Ethan Choi, he has proved that he has amazing acting range. He's an amazing actor!
