You can access to task manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL keys. This is temporary solution. When you restart the pc, these application will be running again. You have to edit environment variables for permanent solution.
In task manager when you are killing the apps same as in this video, . make sure what applications you are killing. You can have fully black screen if you kill windows requested apps. Make sure you saved all of your work like word, presentation..etc. If you have a black screen, press and hold on/off button to restart your pc.
