You could play this at 1.5 speed. . . . . That will make the windows faster.

Silicone spray works far better and no dust or dirt build up in window tracks like you would have with the paste. Better still, would be too remove door panel and clean all the plastic bushings eliminating these issues . Just my opinion. Thank you Eric for sharing your skills.

The windows on my truck are extremely slow but my doctor says its due to arthritis.

Had the same issue in my ‘96 Accord, replaced all motors and regulators, still went slow, then lubricated the tracks with silicon. That helped a bit before it started running slow again. Decided to check if there was an electric issue, found out the window controller in the drivers door ended up collecting a lot of dust and grime over the years. I ended up taking the controller out of the door and sprayed it down with electric contact cleaner. It cleaned up the switches internally and allowed for a better electrical connection to the window motors. Thus allowing more current to flow thru the switch to the motor of the window making it work more efficiently. Hope this can help someone too 👍🏻

When I used to smoke, my windows would get that sticky film on them. I had to clean the windows real well, and also that weatherstrip that goes along the window sill. That significantly improved my roll-up times.

I owned a 85 Prelude before and my fix was, remove the driver and passenger power window switch, pry them open carefully, inside there are copper contacts which are all dirty with old grease and dirt, sand them with fine sandpaper, clean and reinstall, regrease if you like. Result? Smoother power windows.

Yep! I do this but with silicone spray. The paste would be better but I haven't got around to buying the paste yet offline (no stores seem to carry it near me). Also another thing I found on my Hondas, if the window isn't working at all, put power straight to the window motor BEFORE buying a new one. I bought a new rear window motor assembly only to track down the issue to the DRIVERS window switches being dirty.

Didn't even think of using silicone paste, but as its unobtainable in Australia in a tub, unless you order it from 3M and patiently wait months for delivery, I utilize spray pak roller door lube, which contains a very high proportion of PTFE. Works extremely well and doesn't attract dust. 👍👍

I have the same car with the same problem on the same window. I recently replaced my window regulator on my driver's side and greased its tracks, and it glides as good as new! Thanks, Eric!

I need to get some of the silicone paste because I am having that problem on my 1999 Ford Explorer and it has never been lubricated as far as I know. Thanks so much for sharing this information with us and I wish you a Blessed day.

I thought I have some silicone spray in the garage what do I have to lose. I even had the track replaced a few years ago. It was the drivers side window, it started struggling going up and down again and sometimes just stop. I got my butt off the couch and sprayed it. It hauls butt going up and down now, I sprayed them all. Amazing, I have been looking at all these videos on what I might replace and looking at the costs. Hell yes, it is fixed. Thank you and now I will go and buy another can of this "Blaster" Industrial Strength silicone spray, it has a light green label. Another tip, my seat belts weren't retracting so I spayed them. Now they haul butt going back up after I unlatch it. Thanks again!

Friend of mine works at gm dealership and he gave me a can of dry slide once. It worked really good. Not sure who makes it for gm but it's good stuff for sure. Good video Eric

those dried up rubber tracks are possibly why a lot of window cables get broken.

*Also silicone based furniture polish works on slow retracting seatbelts. I just fixed my one it's like a new seatbelt now. Got that tip from YouTube.*

All the years I've been working on cars, and I never even thought of doing this! Most of the time I fixed slow windows by yanking the panel, and giving the track and sector gear a good douching of lubricant. Well, that didn't work this time in my '93 Volvo 940. After watching this, I went out there and sprayed the 2 vertical tracks with silicone spray ... and they're like new again! THANKS for the idea, Eric!! 👍👍

I recommend first cleaning everything (rubber, glass) - then applying grease :)
