I set my system back up again in November when I moved in with my wife, and we left our system armed before going out of town on our honeymoon. Our dog triggered the motion sensor. I thought the motion sensor wasn’t supposed to be set off by dogs. Any help?

I've had Simplisafe for several years. Good system, I like it a lot, but the motion sensors have terrible results with pets. The Simplisafe website boasts that the algorithm "detects pets, not humans" but it's false advertising. I have troubleshooted my sensors continually and set them all to the lowest sensitivity; yet both of my 13 lb dogs set them off all the time. For reference, Simplisafe claims that dogs under 30 lbs won't trip the alarm. Mine are less than half of that weight yet it makes no difference. The only way you cannot continually have to answer the phone for false alarms is to flip your sensors upside down (and move them down slightly) so they're pointed towards the ceiling instead of the ground. While it's good there's an option to flip them upside down, it doesn't take away the fact that Simplisafe continues to market the heat sensing tech in the sensors as "smart enough" for people with pets, yet it's completely untrue.

How come I can adjust these settings such as in home mode the sensor will alarm? I'm confused

Horribly disappointed. I had the old system (about 15 years old) which came with an alarm. I just bought the new system which did NOT come with an alarm, so I purchased the alarm separately. Then found out that there's a built-in alarm in the base unit. Then I tried to connect my sensor to the keypad. That didn't work. So I bought a second sensor, thinking the first one was faulty. The second one just arrived yesterday. It doesn't work either. I'm returning the entire system for a full refund. I am horribly disappointed, exasperated, and frustrated. I'll pull my old system out of storage and use that instead. It worked fine. Update: My issues have been resolved. SimpliSafe customer service were friendly and professional and helped get things working as advertised.

It doesn’t worth. The device make false alarm in case the police show up. Get charged 200 more this never told u when U sign up. U will know after u buying the item n sign up. Better stay from this company
