Well so far, so good. Received the Linkind contact sensors today (motion sensor arrives Tues.). Pulled out the battery plastic tab and they immediately went into pairing mode. Paired right up and work fine. No extra apps needed. No linking of accounts. No skills required.

By far the most comprehensive and explanatory video on youtube for alexa motion sensors.

Another good/useful video from Brian as he gets within striking distance of 100iK subscribers... There is one really useful feature with the Flex/Motion combo that isn't easily duplicated with other devices. Let's say you wanted to do a good deed and keep an eye on a geezer (like me) relative or friend living in another home. You could install the Flex in their home on their WiFi with your credentials. I'd then mute the input and create a routine that was active between say 6 am and 9 am that would use the Flex motion and notify me when there is NO motion during that three-hour period. This gives an easy/affordable way to check w/o having the "creep factor" of cameras with motion triggers.

I currently use the motion sensors that come with the ring security system for automation. I believe they are zigbee. The whole ring security system ties into the echo ecosystem quite nicely.

Was the issue with the Ikea motion sensor ever patched/fixed? Or does it still not directly work with the Echo 4 hub?

Hello, do you know if a Wi-Fi Sonoff Door Sensor can trigger Alexa routines? As you said same can be done with its Zigbee alternative. I have added mine (Wi-Fi) to Alexa and created my routine. When I manually push the button to trigger the routine, the routine works fine. But automatically same cannot be done.. Can you please help?!

Sonoff devices and Miss A have a strange relationship.
I have the SNZB-02 Temperature sensor.
While it did connect to my Echo hub, it went to sleep and never woke up.
The same device works fantastic in Hubitat Elevation.
That temperature sensor and annoyances with Alexa routines are what drove me to get the Hubitat hub.

How did you link the linkind without the linkind hub? I bought 2 based on this video, andbbwas able to link them to a 4th gen echo no problem, but they would never register any triggers.

Thanks for the review of the sensors. I still need to figure out which ones to use in my parents' house for some night routines. Their Echo devices don't have the Zigbee built-in. I'm still trying to keep things simple for them.

I know the Hue sensor is expensive, but it works and works reliably. I don't use it with an Echo, but I do use it with deCONZ hub and I get the 10 second cooldown, which is the quickest of any battery operated device I have tried. Tuya and Xiaomi are about 90 seconds, which seems to be what SOnOff's one is as well, when it actually works. I also like the fact that Hue has a temperature and light sensor and they seem pretty accurate. I know Paul Hibbert would hate me saying that, but they just work. SmartThings would be my next choice.

I have 3 Philips Hue motion sensors. Perfect for our uses. A little thing they also do, no use to us but it's there none the less. In the Hue app you can see the room temperature via the sensor!

Can any single sensor determine the direction of someone walking by... right to left versus moving left to right.

Or do you have to pair two sensors to determine which direction a person is traveling

Hi there. I noticed the Smartthings Motion sensor here. We have a couple of those and also a Smartthings multipurpose sensor and they were working great with just alexa (No smartthings hub) for a while and then all of a sudden about 5 months ago, they all stopped working at the same time and we can no longer get them to pair with Alexa. are you able to shed any light on this issue? Have you come across this issue also?

Hi, very nice video, I've 2 questions for you:
- Blink Mini can trig a routine on Alexa? Some amazon review says that it cannot be done.
- Do you ever tried Shelly motion sensor or do you read something about this? I think that it can be a very nice device but I never tried yet.

Just got a Linkind motion sensor but my Echo 4th gen isn't finding it. Do i need the Linkind hub? I thought the zigbee hub in the echo would work?

Hi Brian. I’m not sure about this but it’s worth checking on the Sonoff sensor. I noticed that they have a config setting for any conditions met and all conditions met and I reached some satisfying results with these configs. It was when paired with the sonoff zigbee hub though, but I’m not sure if it is available with the echo hub. I have not had the opportunity to check it out as yet.
