Great recipe with real information. At my house we eat it with olive oil and lemon. Not everyone likes beef tongue.

They used to be cheap and available.. not so just threw in a pot of water, tossed in some onion and some peppercorn and salt and boiled for 45 min, till tender.. skinned when done and slice and serve .. also had great sandwiches!

Wow thank you 🙏🏻 I like the cleaning and two times boiling process. One question I heard that adding salt makes it tough and longer to cook. Any thoughts on this theory?

Thanks a lot for this recipe. It most famous dish in my country Iraq. Sometimes we cook it with head sheep or cow, stomach, and feet too. But my kids hate these kinds of food. They will be crying if I cook it 😂.

In Sweden these are always salted and we cook them for more than two hours. Usually only sold around Christmas and I suspect that the butchers chuck them in the sausages the rest of the year. Which is a pity, it is the best meat there is.

It's so wild to me that it's only cooked for 30 minutes. Can't believe y'all don't make another pot and keep cooking it after peeling, giving it more time to tenderize. Also, that's not near enough seasoning and veggies for a pot with that much meat being boiled. Needs salt and also more onion, celery, pepper, and bay of course. Maybe try adding spices like oregano, thyme, and coriander. This leaves so much to be desired.
