I thank all those who donate blood. Due to blood cancer, I have required donated blood transfusions many times and it has literally saved my life. Never underestimate the value of your donation. You are the silent heroes, thank you!

My daughter and I were just discussing this ... we are both O- ... so every person in the world can receive our blood (which is why the blood banks are calling us all the time for donations), but we can only receive 0- blood. It's nice that we have each other.

I'm O- CMV neg, which means it gets used for neonatal (babies) use apparently! I've been donating since i was 18, my last donation was 3rd February and it was my 107th. Several more years left for a few more donations hopefully!! Congrats to all donors, keep up the good work!!

I have AB- and am now 28yrs old. I've gone through multiple transfusions over my lifetime thus far and my body had rejected O-, A-, & B- leaving me with only AB- as the acceptance threshold being on the receiving end. Pretty wild stuff! Now imagine being a number of that statistic and needing blood..

One of my nephews was diagnosed with Leukemia and needed A+ blood for his platelets. Everyone in my family is O+ but they needed A for him. I'm the only one left in the family with A+ type since my grandpa and my mom passed away, so as soon as i heard he needed the transfusion i marched right up there to the clinic's blood bank. I've donated 3 times total, fortunately he rang the bell last year and he's doing well so no more tranfusions were needed. He's turning 4 on August and I plan to keep donating for anyone that needs it :)

O - Had covid February of 2020..
No fever, no aches and pains..
Just a really bad cough..
Had heard recently, that people with type O blood had very mild symptoms of covid..
Turns out that was correct.. For me anyways..

I am AB+, I can receive blood from any blood groups but I can only donate blood to my co-blood group which AB+ 💉

Donating blood can save lives, regardless of what type of blood you have. You may not be able help all people but a few people can make a big difference!

I'm AB+, which means not only am I a universal recipient, I am a universal plasma donor.

I'm giving blood today. I'm type A+. My dad's G.I. dog tags reveal that he was type O, so that means my mom was type A+. Incidentally, my dad died from a stroke at age 78, although type O's are supposedly less likely to have cardiovascular issues. He was overweight at the time of his death, so this didn't help matters any.

Its nice to have a sister with the same blood, considering the fact that people with our blood type only 1.1 %

I give blood every 3-4 months. It’s so vital. If you can’t give money to charity, please give your blood. You truly are helping saving lives…

Type "O" may be the purest since it can receive only "O" type. Untainted blood type.

O- type here and I have been donating since 18 y.o…..now 70y.o.! I DO have one complaint. I think, if you are a blood donor and eventually NEED blood…they should NOT charge you for it (or at least up to however much you have actually donated.) I had a serious accident when I was 27 y.o. and almost bled out and died. I remember when I looked over the hospital bills, seeing all the blood charges and it kind of irked me, since I’d been donating for years. I’ve also donated platelets and, wow, does that ever knock me on my ass for a couple of days afterwards…..Ironically, my late longtime GF was a phlebotomist (her side gig…we were both touring musicians.) I also lived in New Orleans for years (still own a house there) and my current GF is from Romania…so I’ve heard a LOT of vampire jokes.🤣😂

I’m O- and I never thought much about it until I got pregnant. I had to get 2 extra shots just in case my blood mixed with the baby that didn’t have my blood type. It could harm him. At least that’s how they explained it to me. It freaked me out.

As a 0rh- it’s annoying to know that you can give blood to any type but take just only from your type, I guess that’s why it’s rarest and hard to find.
