My grandfather lived to be 92 years old. He really loved salt. He always added salt to all his dishes. Salt is great. It gives you energy.

After decades of dealing with the old school, often arrogant, know it all, doctors I enjoy listening to this new breed of thinking, exploring doctors. This interview was golden.

I add sea salt or pink Himalayan salt to my coffee every day. It also give coffee a richer taste. Try it you will be amazed.

As far as losing salt due to coffee consumption, I learned a great tip a while ago. If you add a 1-2 grinds of either sea salt or Pink Himalayan sea salt in your coffee, it takes away the bitterness and enhances the flavor. Plus, you retain some of the salt you may lose. This tip actually helped to wean me off of adding sweet creamers and sugar to my coffee, which I was addicted to. Now I take my coffee black with a twist of sea salt.

My husband, got upset every time he sees me drinking salt warm water. And he never allow me to put salt in his food. 2017 first time i came here in the US i never use in cooking, i observe my health is declining and got thyroid.
After covid -19 i came back to my regular usual cooking routine in Philippines. And thats the time he saw me drinking warm water with salt. I still doing it now. Cause i feel so good and helps regulate my monthly period lessen the cramps and headaches. My parents they do it all the time, warm water with salt and sometimes warm lemos with salt instead of sugar., we grew up on this method thats the reason i keep doing it especially when i feel sick and have sorethroat. SALT I REALLY VALUABLE IN OUR HEALTH.

Thank you Dr, Berg for clarifying about salt do to our body.

I also accidentally put salt in the coffee way back 1998! My sister and brother in-law laughed at me after my brother in-law sipped and tasted the salt in his coffee. I mistakenly put salt in our coffee! Just that a funny story of my life! Now im loving coffee with salt and mct but ofcourse i dont tell my husband because it wont be easy for him to understand that so i keep it to myself! Hahah

I'm a nurse at a hospital and I realized the other day that the recommended sodium level is 2300 mg/day but in the hospital if you're placed on a cardiac diet, you're restricted to 2000 mg/day. That tells me we are essentially being recommended to eat a low sodium diet whether we are healthy or not. Very disturbing.

Is wasn't till I started eating steak and salt that I realised what had been missing in my diet pretty much all my life. It has healed me!

When I was in the hospital they put me on the "heart healthy" diet which meant Zero salt on anything. It was bland and boring food. Then they lectured me because I have a heart condition telling me not to eat salt anymore. I ditched that advice but I did change my habits in the form of; instead of putting salt on my fries now I am putting salt on green beans, Asparagus, Zucchini, ect. Thank you Dr. Berg for all you do!! I have learned a great deal from you.

For years I suffered from chronic Exertion Headaches especially after any kind of excercises. Headaches lasted 24-48 hrs. To the point where I had to give up any form of intensive sports...even golf. Cut a long story short...adding Himalayan salt to smoothies, vegetable broths etc was the cure! Gone are the headaches and now I enjoy exercising again. This is vital information that you will never find in medical journals etc.

This information is huge. I think of my elderly parents told to limit salt...exhibiting dizziness, fatigue, etc.

You are spot on about salt.
I am a person who sweats a lot, and I live in the sub-tropics. Back to my childhood, my father also took salt tablets because he had an outdoor occupation exposed to heat. Adding salt to food became second nature.
Recently, my doctor prescribed blood pressure medication. I suffered severe muscle cramps, dizziness and my asthma worsened.
I stopped taking them. Then she prescribed a lower dose of a different drug. Same symptoms, so I stopped.
She still expresses “great concern” of my elevated BP, I take it with “a grain of salt”.
Interestingly enough, the only deficiency she found was iron. Everything else was perfect.
I have been taking iodised salt and potassium salt regularly to replace the BP drugs, as they were putting my health at serious risk, to the point of almost ending up in hospital being unable to breathe.
I will continue to eat natural fats and salt in my diet. I get less problems overall by doing so.

I have pretty low blood pressure naturally and feel fatigued most days.. increasing Himalayan salt in food and in my water greatly improved my health and strength. Helped me cognitively as well. Now I add lemon and salt to my bottles water on the go.

I followed that idea to not take salt and drink 2 l water, and I ended up with muscle twiching all over my body. I spent 6 months from dr to dr and none of them could not tell me what was wrong with me, until my coworker 60 year old said "Stop washing up everything you eat with that much water. Eat like your mother and grandmother ate, and you will be fine." When I started up my diet with a bit more salt and I drink less water my twiching stoped.

AFib - I put a bit of pink Himalayan salt in my tea this morning and two hours later my heart showed no AFib and remains steady.
I’ve changed how, when and what I eat thanks to you, Dr. Berg, and my health has improved. But this is astounding.
I was prescribed meds by a cardiologist over a year ago, but did not take them.
I’m 75, 5’7” my weight has been 130-140 most of my life.
Please thank Dr. DiNic for me. If the salt keeps working, I’ll be grateful forever.

I read his book. Mind-blowing! Great lecture. I am using 4 to 6 g of pink salt everyday and cured my "genetic" hypertension 2 years ago. I changed radically my lifestyle.
