A little while ago, I released a video about why I've started adding some cooked food to my diet after years of being raw.

So today I'm sharing my latest update and also answering the question "does Paul eat any cooked food as well"?

Thank you for being honest and not demonizing whole cooked vegan foods.

I like your honesty and your flexible mental attitude. :) My personal feeling from watching your video is that there's more to it. Like there's something deeper going on, that's not just about physical things like calories, sleep deprivation or fruit quality. Maybe something at the emotional or spiritual level? I wish you all the best. Take good care of yourselves. <3 <3 <3

Thanks for sharing your journey authentically. Eating high raw is the way I enjoy living too. 💕 it’s so challenging to get enough calories otherwise. I appreciate your videos! Thanks for keeping it real 😌

Also I'll add that my 4 kids are high raw vegans. And they love their greens! The green smoothies I make are so loaded with berries and other fruit that you can hardly taste the greens. But when we don't have greens, we really miss them it's odd, but they are a crucial though subtle ingredient in our smoothies. My kids adore kale salad. They beg me to make it all the time and I don't use any oil whatsoever. I massage our kale with apple cider vinegar and toss them with some crushed up pumpkin seeds and dulse. Try it, you may find that rich leafy greens is what you're missing! Peace and love.

Great job with a healthy lifestyle! I have a son who was born April 1, 2014 here in Peru and we are just recently making the switch to all raw, mostly fruits. Sometimes we still eat a soup or potato/sweet potato or plantain. It is hard with the kids because they like legumes and breads, but we are slowly making the switch.
Sounds like you still have some malabsorption (weak pancreas/liver). They might have some good herbs where you are which will help that system more quickly than raw fruits alone. Also, you might want to get on an herb for your adrenals.... I would do 4-6 months on herbal tinctures or teas and see if that will help you clear that up for good.
Thank you for being an inspiration and, of course raising your daughter on all raw! We are the bringers of a new dawn, and new level of life for our species - so keep spreading the word and helping others. And so it is!

I think that's great ♥ I was fully raw for a while because I enjoyed it and it worked for me, and at a certain point it just changed. I just needed more dense sources of calories, and less fiber. I 100% agree with the less stress approach. We do our best, and that's good enough ♥

I'm eating on a raw vegan diet like you since 10years now, but sometimes I eat some cooked food mostly because of social situations. Recently I experimented a lot and I tried some black rice soaked, sprouted 24h and then slow cooked and it was excellent! I digested it really well!! even better than sweat potatoes!
legumes (but only lentils and mung beans) also sprouted and then cooked can be included as well.
I don't feel good on more than tiny amount of fat as well, even if I'm 5mth pregnant now, fat is still not my stuff. We will see during breastfeeding though :)
I do agree that sometimes a bit of cooked food is quite helpful. As cooked food I do prefer some steamed greens like chard, green beans or squashes, grains and tubers are still exception for me but I do experiment a bit with all that.

It takes time but your microbiam will shift if you start adding in lentils let's say and you will be able to digest them -u may only have micro flora that digests fruit because that's what u mostly eat now...

I totally agree with you on a vegan diet some people feel good on a high fat... others feel good on high protein (legumes, nuts and seeds) others feel good on carbs. I actually feel best on a high fat and protein low sugar low carb. I have been vegan for a while so I have tried every vegan diet. High raw carbs like bananas and fruit make my sugar spike and I get hypoglycemic symptoms. Cooked potatoes or rice don't seem to do that to me. So I am super confused how so many people can eat a butt load of fruit and I can't.

my blood type doesn't like banana, is what I meant. I incorporated some of the blood type diet, in my raw vegan diet. only what works for ME😋

Have you ever heard of fructose malabsorption? I think I have that; when I eat sweet fruit, my body reacts very badly - kidney pain, swelling, headaches, joint pains. I have experimented a thousand times! It's really the only reason I feel like I need to include cooked starches, like squashes, etc. in my diet, in order to get enough calories.

I find that whenever I introduce any cooked food into my diet it becomes a bit of a slippery slope and I end up with the same problems I had before switching to a fruit based raw vegan diet, mainly IBS. I also never really feel satisfied after a cooked meal, and end up eating fruit later anyway which isn't ideal. Having said that, everyone's situation is different and I suppose you just have to go with your instincts and find what works for you.

You have a lovely channel and family. Very inspirational! Your daughter is a gem! Here is a tip though, try more greens! I have been a raw vegan for the past 20+ years. During that time I birthed 4 children and breastfed them for 10+ years! I am thus speaking from experience. I like you, do not digest grains well. Prior to being raw I was a regular cooked vegan for 10+ years. During that time my main source of calories was grains. I was bloated and lacked energy all the time. I was also very gassy. Then when I first became raw I focused too much on fruit. After that, too much on fat. Now I can honestly say I feel like I found the solution - greens! I eat at least 2 lbs of leafy greens daily in smoothie and salad format. The greens, while low in calories like you say, fill the gaps in terms of minerals and protein. I have 2 very large green based smoothies daily plus one large green salad in the evening. If I skip on my greens I find that I start to have cravings for other foods. Greens are so very crucial on a plant based and especially raw diet because they balance out all the sugars in the fruit. I still keep my fat intake relatively low (for me I enjoy 10-15%) but the fruit and greens are key! I noticed in some of your other posts where you show what you eat in a day that your green intake is severely low. Just an idea. Try having more greens and you might feel satiated and quite balanced on 100% raw. Let me know what you think.

Your body has stopped producing enzymes that break down those foods you say you react poorly to. If you slowly introduce it over a period of a week of two, you will not have that poor reaction. I personally have a lot of qualms with the high fruit, low fat type diet but that's myself... But seeing as this is how you eat, as long as you occasionally have those types of food, your body will make the enzyme to digest them.

I've seen many go from raw to some cooked and I myself went through the same... Raw for about 3 years then started looking bloated, gassy and food combining as I had always been doing but I think our bodies go through changes and now that I eat cooked, I eat less and feel better.

Perhaps something more calorie dense...and possibly cooked...should be eaten mid-day or mid-afternoon.  This may enable you to avoid the ultra-hungry feeling in the evening.  I believe that if you are getting that hungry, you've waited too long to eat an adequate amount of food.
