Glad you pointed out the new weather icon. I thought they put it at the bottom of the sceen next to the inside temp. I was disappointed mine didn't show it. Thanks for pointing that out :)

RE Tire Pressure indicator – You noted an unexplained difference in front and back tire pressure. Using my pressure gage I have found all four wheels to be within a pound or two of each other while the Tesla tire pressure numbers vary greatly. It would be interesting to know if this is a Tesla problem or a problem with the indicators in the wheels common to all cars.

My 16 has his CA learners permit and he’s got a choice between my ‘21 M3 SR+ and my wife’s ‘21 VW ID.4 PRO. He likes the M3. He’s a very chill, very deliberate driver. I’m very relaxed with him behind the wheel.

As for the newest update, the one that put a smile on my face was the tiny weather icon next to the temperature.

I taught elementary school for 30 years (as well as state university and community college), mostly as a 6th grade teacher. Every year I’d take my students up to the mountains for science camp for a week.

There was a teacher there, Earl, who had a rock suspended on a string outside a classroom window. Earl called it The Weather Rock. He’d instruct the students on how it worked:

“If the rock has light on it, it’s sunny out. If it’s wet, it’s raining. If it’s moving, it’s windy. If it’s white, it’s snowing. If you can’t see it, it’s foggy.”

The tiny weather icon is about as functional as Earl’s Weather Rock! 😂

P126 MODEL 3 Owner's Manual
Obstacle-Aware Acceleration is designed to reduce the
impact of a collision by reducing motor torque and in
some cases applying the brakes, if Model 3 detects an
object in its driving path. The touchscreen displays a
visual warning and sounds a chime when the brakes are
automatically applied. For example, Model 3, while
parked in front of a closed garage door with Drive
Collision Avoidance Assist engaged, detects that you
have pressed hard on the
accelerator pedal. Although Model 3 still accelerates and
hits the garage door, the reduced torque may result in
less damage.
Obstacle-Aware Acceleration is designed to operate
only when all of these conditions are simultaneously
met:
• Drive or Reverse is engaged.
• Model 3 is stopped or traveling less than 10 mph (16
km/h).
• Model 3 detects an object in its immediate driving
path.
