Sociopaths are very scary. I met one in my lifetime and it was a 5 year nightmare dealing with this scammer as he screwed people after people. But it was amazing how he fooled everyone. I finally called him out and called him a Socipath to his face and was worried he would become violent to me, but he ran off screaming. Just unbelievable and the worst thing that happened to me.

What Madoff claimed to be doing was a load of mystifying linguistic/mathematical nosense, that was maliciously designed not be understood. However, Madoff's bankers had a direct view into the absurdly simple truth about what he was really doing, but said nothing. The briefest examination of Madoff's bank accounts would have revealed that he was not making any of the profitable trades he claimed to be making, and that his only real source of revenue was from persons who made the mistake of trusting him. How agents of the SEC failed to look for this evidence, let alone find it, has never been adequately explained.

It's the same old story, greed. SEC just punted the ball down the field. They knew what was happening after Markoplis, and others told them it was impossible to keep these results keep going.
