How to replace Windows with Android x86 OS to HDD with USB

Показать описание
This method ( works with dual boot ) requires extra HDD to install the Android OS or an HDD with two partitions!
Otherwise you will erase completely your current OS and your files.
BEFORE, you take any actions backup your files to another external Hard Disk Drive, if you have any.

Before you download the .iso file :
If your PC is old enough and doesn't support UEFI, download and install only the x86 version, otherwise you can download and install the x64 version.

For the installation you need USB with minimum 2 GB space.
BEFORE, you take any actions backup your files.

For dual boot :
If you have an HDD with 120 GB Maximum Space, you can create 3 partitions, always have at the 1. ( from the top ) your OS ( Windows, Linux, Ubuntu.. ) 90 GB, at the 2. 300 MB needs the Android system to boot ( You must choose this sector as bootable ), and at the 3. the Android x86 OS 30 GB
Do not install the /system as read-write, because this process take the whole HDD and not only the partition you have install the Android OS.

BE CAREFUL do not clear the cache or uninstall the Octopus app, otherwise it will delete your saves.
( I don't know how exactly works this app )
Soon, i will upload a new video to explain how to play this games, be patient.

Known issues :
Camera default app crashes
Many apps not supported because of the x86 platform
Superuser permission has to be granted each time
Suspend and resume doesn't work on some devices

I made this video to help you for the process, if you have any question feel free to ask me.
Please be patient and responsible for your actions.
Follow this guide only if you have some extra skills and knowledge to do it.

Hello, first of all, thank you for the nice explanation. I have a problem. I divided my SSD hard disk into two parts, and installed Windows 10 Pro on the first and largest part. I want to install Andoid x86 on the 64 GB part of the second part of the same disk, but I could not succeed. What you described is the same. I did the same and Android x86 was installed and booted. But this time Windows 10 disappeared and only Android started to appear at startup. I want to have both Windows and Android options on the boot screen. What am I doing wrong? Please help.

I did a dual boot with I believe the x86 version. I put it on a partition on one hard drive. It's 20gb for the partition.
How do I start windows? It only shows the grub thing with options to start Android, but even so Android runs fine.

I'm stuck at "Please select a partition to install...", where my arrow keyboard lost control to maneuver up/down. Plug in mouse also doesn't work. How to fix? This laptop is not touchscreen.

I don't have a spare HDD, and I have a fresh install of Windows 7 but with quite a lot of files (mostly games) occupying it, so yeah formatting right now for the partition wouldn't be as easy.
I'm using a tool to format to EXT4 on Windows but it's saying my USB stick might be damaged, and I don't doubt, but I need to ask if it's even possible at all to run this in a USB stick? I tested the OS through a 8GB one and it ran smoothly but some settings weren't saving due to the lack of room, I assume, such as bridging for native apps.

Hello I have installed X86 8.1 rc2 after following your video to install I am now stuck on the monitor it says found at sd1 # and that's it. I let it sit thinking perhaps there were processes in the background running without an update to the screen. Do you have an idea what I may have done and how to remedy this. Thank you
