2024 was a very difficult year for Jamaica

The absence of all three Jamaican women at the Paris Olympics was probably one of the biggest shockers for me. All three women were some of the heavy favourites to medal or win in Paris, but didn't even get the opportunity to compete properly because of injuries.
I believe right now this is a rebuilding period for Jamaican sprinting on both the men's and women's side. The Americans are heavily in the mix with many medalists and champions. The Africans are coming up and developing very well. Even some of the Europeans are stepping up recently.

World Relays in 2025 will once again determine the top teams to represent the relay rounds at World Championships in Tokyo. I'll be interested to see if any of these Jamaican women will be a part of this and if Jamaica can put on a better performance across the 5 relay events.

The other girls were honestly cut a break in Paris with these 2 out of action

Elaine is so special, I really hope she comes back better. Her story is amazing

That's part of the reasons why I believe the pay in sprinting needs to be increased. Too much wear and tear on the body of these athletes.

Not only did bolt win a triple double but also a triple triple with the 4x100 … untouchable greatness 😮‍💨

Just an unfortunate trail of events for all these ladies. However what we are really seeing is a changing of the guards. I don't believe it is the end of the road for all these ladies but a new generation of Jamaican ladies are waiting in the wings. Tia and Tina Clayton along with Brianna Lyston are just a few who are set to eventually take their place.

Really think she is underrated for all she has done

For Elaine to go from not qualifying to the WC in 2023 to 10.79, 0.25 shy off the world record with weeks away from the track when she wasn’t able to train speaks a lot about what she got in her. I wish she could stay injury free for ONE single season to finally unleash her full potential 🇯🇲

I mean it gifted 6 athletes in the 100 and 200 a medal due to them withdrawing

I show much love these three Jamaicans. So consistent and determined

The situation I find most puzzling is the travesty of Fraser-Price and Richardson not being allowed entry into the stadium. It's possible to realize in warm-up that you have a problem, a pre-existing tightness, etc., but if your pre-race preparation is rushed you may not have time for a needed massage or proper taping. Going all out in those conditions could be risky. Shelly Anne will be back next year. An Achilles injury is difficult; you have to allow it to heal fully. Thompson- Herah will be back. I don't know much about Jackson, but I would expect her also to be back next year.

I saw someone in the comments on a previous video ask for this video. Cool 👍

Sprinting is so hard on the body, I'm not surprised. I'm sure (without looking at any data) that injuries like this happen more often in Oly years due to increase intensity of training. Always better to shut it down and preserve than roll the dice when you're not 100%. They are the greats of women's sprinting. I'm hoping to see more of them in the future.

i think Shelly Ann and Elaine are Pretty much done. Shericka Jackson however still has some fire left in her

They are sublime athletes and great champions. Hoping that all three return fully fit in 2025. We’re blessed to enjoy seeing these ladies perform at such an amazing level. It takes a huge amount of sacrifice and dedication to reach the top and staying there is even more difficult. The 100 and 200 are so competitive. Wishing them the best

Coaching is a very important aspect of the game.

Shelly-Ann said that she will extend her career 1 more year due to how this season ended for her. Hopefully Elaine can get back to the fitness she once had and recapture the lightning on the same track she struck 3 years ago. If Shericka can recover fully, I am confident she can break the WR next year.

I do not care to watch the Cat Women unless I can also watch Bat Women.

I am not saying who is who. But the US without Jamaica and Holland is not worth the watch.

I need drama. God bless Jamaica ❤❤❤

I have to say this—don't hate on me—but I find it suspicious that ALL of Jamaca's female sprinters had to pull out. It makes me wonder what the Jamaican Olympic team knew/knows that we do not, such as positive tests of some kind.

I was extremely disappointed that none of these 3 power ladies could compete in Paris Olympics.
