I am no medical professional. But I was told by a nurse that benedryl can increase seizures in people with epilepsy or epilepsy like conditions. I wonder if Joyner was experiencing a headache and dizziness so she took benadryl a antihistamine to reduce allergy related dizziness and acetaminophen to reduce the the headache which could have increased her threshold to have a seizure coupled with her brain condition this may explain her death. The intense training could have also help strain her body as it was very strict and dieting. She had suffered a seizure on a plane in 96 if memory serves correct so a culmination of these factors could have easily played a role.

What a loss of such a beautiful lady and soul 💔

The fact that they didn’t find any drugs in her in her autopsy a decade after she’d retired says nothing at all.

If anyone is interested her daughter Mary Joyner has made a documentary about her mom. It's on Tubi now

I remember hearing about her death it was so sudden and tragic but very saddening. She was still young in life her beauty graced the track. Rest in Peace Flo Jo! 10.49 is safe for now!

FloJo was so beautiful and so talented. I always looked forward to watching her race to see what she was wearing. She always pushed the envelope when it came to her racing attire. She was always so stylish off the track and on. So many of us considered her a role model. Miss you FloJo. RIP sweet lady. 🙏

You made a MAJOR misstatement about the prevalence of the condition FGJ suffered from. At 3:24 you said 25% percent of the population has it. Didn't that sound rather high to you for something almost no one has heard of? The actual number is about .5% (half of one percent). Your writers might have gotten confused about the fact that 25% of people with the condition never have any symptoms—NOT that 25% of all people have it. Please do better research and fact-checking on something so serious. It took me about a minute online to find your error.

Rip queen. These people owe you and your family an apology. The minute you outshine them they start fabricating stories.

After the 1988 Olympics, Griffith Joyner retired from competitive track and field, a year before the introduction of mandatory random drug testing in 1989.She was repeatedly tested during competition and passed every test.

After her death in 1998,  Prince Alexandre de Merode, chairman of the International Olympic Committee's medical commission, claimed that Griffith Joyner was singled out for extra, rigorous drug testing during the 1988 Olympic Games following rumors of steroid use. De Merode told The New York Times that Manfred Donike, who was at that time considered to be the foremost expert on drugs and sports, failed to discover any banned substances during that testing. The World Anti-Doping Agency was created in the 1990s, removing control of drug testing from the IOC and De Merode. De Merode later stated: "We performed all possible and imaginable analyses on her. We never found anything. There should not be the slightest suspicion.

My grandmother had an enlarged heart. She worked her @zz off and gave so much love. Just leave it with that for Flo-Jo.
