Rejecting a claim because you serviced the vehicle yourself is illegal under Federal law. If any manufacturer denies coverage for this reason contact your State Attorney General.

The catalytic converter should be part of the replacement. They end up being damaged by the oil that gets passed the piston rings.

Doing your own oil change do not void your warranty just keep your receipt and provide to them when warraty issue come up. Hyundai or Kia does not want you to know this.

What you mean denied. You have the right to change your own oil. I’ve changed my own oil since I bought the car and post the actual mileage on Hyundais website for my vehicle. Why was he

Had a 2008 Sonata. It was a tank. My 2017 Sonata was going though oil at rate of 3.5 quarts per 4, 000 miles. I was able to get a new engine. My suggestion, before you contact a dealer, file a claim with Hyundai Customer Care and tell them you want them to start the engine replacement process. Be firm and insistent.

I have a 2018 Hyundai tuscan with 100k miles on it and my engine fail and my dealer said that they can’t do anything about it because it is out of the warranty I called Hyundai and opened a case with them and they told me the same thing now I still owe the bank 19k and my car doesn’t worth nothing and I only have the car for 2 years all what should I do right now.

My check engine light came on so I took it to Orieleys to have it hooked up to their free engine check system. It ended up being my knock sensor. So I took it to the dealer to have it checked out and it was the knock sensor sensing an engine knock, which is what it was intended to do. Hyundai claimed it was excessive wear in the rod bearings ( rod oil journals drilled to small from the factory) so they decided to replace the engine at no cost to me. The engine only had 71, 000 miles on it! So now I start over with a new engine (with good rod bearings now) and it runs like a clock! Thank you Hyundai!!

Yeah, I’ll never buy a freaking Hyundai Accent again I got totally screwed on this car six year loan $21, 000. I paid for the fucking secondhand car at Kingston Nissan in Kingston New York. They screwed me big time because the oil I’m putting in this car is ridiculous I’m putting in a court every two weeks and I know it’s gonna get worse and it’s going to catch on fire. This is horrible horrible, horrible and they won’t help me because it’s not a theta engine.
