What I noticed most about this scene was the body language Miranda displays here. She is totally self absorbed. You can tell she feels entitled to treat people her like this...no eye contact, pretending to not be very interested in what Andie is saying, but being deliberately closed off. I've dealt with ppl like this, they want control and that's that. She wanted to see how hungry Andie is to get ahead...

Andy is a newbie but Miranda still picks her up for the most important event instead of Emily, who has been with her for years. Miranda does not do it for nothing. She sees talent through Andy, even exceeds Emily. Andy learns and has things done very quickly nearly without a mistake. Andy understands what Miranda wants. That’s all what Miranda needs

I find it quite beneficial that Andrea was getting an opportunity to accompany Miranda at such an important event, but I feel quite extreme that Miranda tells her that she will give notice that she does not take her career seriously to ruin her reputation. Miranda knows that Andy worked hard and has studied a lot. I understand that she shouldn't waste that opportunity, but that as a threat and coercion. But on one hand, it's understandable because I think Emily would give a damn if Andy wasn't selected to go to Paris. But even though I still question the way she threatened her.

Andy could’ve said no. Worked until she got fired and moved on to something else but she wanted that win. She wanted to WIN it and when she got faced with it she chose to screw Emily over. She quit after and that maybe have gave her a moral freedom BUT she had a choice and she thought looking at Miranda was going to be her superior motive. No you did it to Emily like she did it to Nigel. She just didn’t bribe Nigel after she did what she did. He accepted it, got over it and kept going. Miranda owned it

The funniest and most iconic thing about this movie is how fashion-focused it is and yet at the same time how quickly the looks in this movie became dated. Like this off the shoulder sweater over a collared shirt thing here? One of the most early 2010s things ever.

It's interesting that Emily hadnt eaten for weeks, unintentionally weakening her immune system by denying herself nutrition. Anyone can get sick but it hit her harder than it should have for a seemingly healthy woman
