Miranda is shocked, not for the fact that Andy got unpublished HarryPotter, but for Andy did even better than she had asked.

I love that little flash of amusement Miranda has at the end. She LIKES the fact that Andi not only completed to the task, but had the nerve to rub her face into it. That extra manuscript was not for "just in case" - it was tangible proof that Miranda failed in giving an impossible task for Andi.

Meryl Streep's acting here is phenomenal. She does so little yet conveys so much.

That’s the moment when a Queen recognises her successor.

Andy finally grew out of expecting "thank you"s and praise from Miranda here. Getting the job done and sensing Miranda's annoyed and impressed she could do it is enough satisfaction.

You can tell that Miranda only gave Andy this task to have an excuse to fire her after the "delivering the book" fiasco--granted, Miranda could have fired her right then and there, but it was probably more fun for her to watch her squirm. And then Andy *pulls it off* . My favorite detail is that Miranda is utterly speechless when Andy happily declares that the copies are with the twins; Miranda ALWAYS has something to say. She's always the boss. So to have her finally be at a loss for words (even for a few seconds) is the ultimate victory! :p

I love this scene because you can tell even Miranda was a little freaked out at Andy's determination to actually do the seemingly impossible task haha

"Well where are these fabulous copies, I don't see them anywhere" tickles me everytime

Love how she “slams” the book on Miranda’s desk

Love Andy smug naughty face for completing the impossible task.

I like Andy’s smirk at the end when she asks what else can she do. A face that says “nice try, bitch”.

Miranda probably prepared that line to further demoralize Andy after all that effort to get a manuscript. So the fact that Andy went above and beyond, truly shocked Miranda to a new level.

Miranda is literally thinking "dammit, I hate how much I love how good she is at her job which I gave as her punishment". Meryl is phenomenol.

What are my twins going to do with that? Share? the most capitalist line I’ve heard in a movie💀

What's really obvious about the whole manuscript thing is that Miranda only wanted to challenge Andy just to get her full potential here, she never really cared about the book or the twins LOL

Great acting from Ms. Streep at 00:33. Because Miranda was looking forward to giving Andi yet another caustic tongue lashing. Instead, she was like "WTF" when Andi met and EXCEEDED that ridiculous task she gave her. The look on her face was PRICELESS. Now drink your coffee and figure out your next move. Your assistant is indeed a worthy adversary. 🤣😂🤣

I’ve worked for someone like this. You can romanticize it all you like. People like this are strictly out for power, to torment employees because they find it fun. I found it fun when I destroyed his career.

It's kind of obvious Miranda wanted to fire her, it wasn't a test. She rose to the occasion and Miranda was shocked. And gave her a second chance

That smug little “is there anything else I can get for you?” Kills me 😂 I quoted this exact line with a boss who had been hounding me with a report for months. Felt amazing to give them my “book” in the end

The iconic look Miranda gave to Andy is exactly the precise moment When the Boss realizes they have a new favorite employee!!
