Hey guys! I often talk about making rice without a rice cooker in my videos so I thought I’d make a short video just to make things clearer!

Let me know if this helps you and I'll try and make shorter videos like this for quick tips and tricks!

I always had a bugbear about my rice. Then I bought a rice cooker and have never looked back. I do wash, soak and then allow the cooker to do the rest and it is perfect every time. 🌸

I tried this on nanahondashi rice, of course I gave it the very first rinse with distilled water as i should then your steps worked beautifully, thanks chef.

Chef, when the rice boils, I take a spoon and try to taste the bubble. Been doing that since I was a kid. I know it's weird too. I got out of that habit when I was already 20.

I have a strainer from a Japanese store which makes it easier to wash the rice. It has holes on the bottom which makes things so much easier. We also measure the water before putting it in our Tiger rice cooker.

perfect rice at home:
Setp 1: Buy a ricecooker
Step 2: Enjoy.

That's seriously so much and less chance to burn it and it keeps it warm and perfect moisture even after 24h.

Love this straight to the point short with your style and cooking! Definitely want to see more!
Sadly I can't make rice like this as my stove top is an old electric one that keeps the heat for at least half an hour after turning it off and then starts cooling.

This technique makes better rice than a Zojirushi rice cooker. Had a few side by side comparisons.

Thank you very much for sharing this tip with us, its very helpful! Since I started making bentos to work, I was really annoyed with the quality of my rice (no rice cooker at home), hope it will get better from now on :)
