Things I have learned from raising Corsos. These dogs are surprisingly sensitive, self-discipline of the trainer and CALMNESS above all is effective. These dogs will reflect your behaviour immediately, losing your temper and monstering them can lead to them behaving the same back - a terrible habit to instil in them. If you are calm and consistent things will go well and they won't challenge you. This doesn't mean no discipline or correction, but it does mean following through EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I've found you need to treat them like little soldiers when they are puppies to get a great adult that you can take anywhere. They adore interaction and working for you. If you haven't got plenty of time to put in and you leave them alone to free-range, you will be left in the situation of having to pit your strength against theirs to control them. Even if you can, it's a rotten way to live. Love and full-spectrum mind control (!) is the way to raise them to be the loving, well-behaved monsters that they are. I love these dogs. The Corso is totally my breed.
