Thanks! Just bought a pitboss griddle this week and was looking on tips and your video was very helpful! Have to grab some oil tomorrow after work!

Two finishing tips:
1 from Blackstone Betty, and one from myself.
1. Dice up 5-6 white onions and cook them up for your first cook. Helps even out your layers. Will help you get by with only 3-4 layers vs 7-8.
2. A good seasoning takes a lot of propane. Make sure you have a backup ready so you don’t mess up that first family cook…….

I only have a Blackstone. I'm glad you're doing cooks on the Blackstone again.

Its very cool to see, with all you experience, the proper way to season the PIT BOSS griddle...also very cool to see PIT BOSS making a cast iron griddle, adding more options for griddlers everywhere...thanks for profiling and sharing the magic sauce to seasoning like a pro!!! Another banger!!

Glad to see you cooking on the cast iron top again. There is just something about the sound of the spatulas hitting the surface. Personally I'm not a fan of the non stick surface griddles but will watch all your videos and incorporate them on my cast top griddle.

Good looking griddle. I like how the lids fold out to become shelves.
I'm enjoying my copy of your epic outdoor griddle cookbook.

Very cool. But when you say a tablespoon and then actually use about 10 times that amount of oil it is kind of funny.

I found that Flaxseed became rather brittle over time. I started using Grape seed oil and it has been absolutely MONEY! 👊🏻

That's definitely a great video! I used peanut oil on my flat top. I did four applications and right after that cooked quite a few mounds of bacon. Like you said any high smoke point oil oh yeah and neutral flavor should work pretty decent.

man, that griddle looks fantastic, i did my baby Vevor 14' Griddle the same way and my first cook was 2 eggs, i noticed that they were sliding towards the back of the griddle top, yep, the seasoning went very well, but i then realized it was not level, all good now, 2 thumbs up man, thanks for the awesome tutorial.

Back to cast iron I see. I have not seen many smoke videos. I have done 3 pork tender loins since the new year. Get you some rosemary and garlic seasoning and encrust the pork using a yellow muster binder. Smoke 225-230 for about 2 hours if I remember. Add the kraut to a aluminum pan and put that in the smoker to warm up when cooking. It is money.

We use safflower oil. If it is good for professional woks, it is good for my house. You can definitely use any high smoke point oil.
I also think a lot of people get intimidated simply because they just made an investment they are hoping not to screw up.
