How to Pickle ANYTHING! Quick Pickling Tutorial.

This is a very simple and basic recipe for quick pickles or refrigerator pickles. You can process them for canning if you wish, but I usually just make a small batch to keep in the fridge.

Here I show my basic recipe for making classic dill pickles, but the basic ration of vinegar, water, salt and sugar can be applied to just about anything. Cut the sugar for a brinier flavor. Double or triple the sugar for a bread and butter style. Change up the vegetables and spices and make it your own!

I’ve done it without cooking the pickling liquid and it turned out great. I skipped the garlic and dill and added about half a habenero and some crushed red pepper flakes. They are delicious!

I think just putting it in the refrigerator works great. I just did my cucumbers they came out fabulous. Vinegar water, spices etc, dill. Superb and so easy

I’m looking into putting some vegetables away. I looked into fermenting but I’m not suppose to have the salt so much. So I think I will try this. I use to can years ago but I don’t want to do the 3 your boiling now. Thanks!!

Hello Coley, can I use Lakanto monk fruit sweetener instead of sugar? it tastes just like sugar, but it is not sugar.
I have health issue with sugar content, but love pickles.

If I do this, do I need to use a specialized Mason jar --- or can I put any glass jar in the dishwasher and use that?
