When you mention left wing political analysts, you should have also mentioned yourself. While Franch-language content might be particularly impactful rn in France, you are for me (and certainly many others) a very important voice who often puts in words phenomena that are hard to explain even with leftist basics already there. The first video of yours that showed how much I learn from you was the "Liberal Femisim leads to Fascism" video and since then you've added so much to my own further political education. Thank you so much for that. What I learn from you is constantly put to use, in leftist workshops and gatherings, Uni as well as conversations with friends and family.

The video misses the point about the left alliance being very temporary and situational because no party on the left wanted to risk loosong parliament seats. The socialst (in name only), green and communist (in name only) parties are actually less willing to form a coalition with La France Insoumise and are trying to find common grpund with Macron. No government was formed yet as the left alliance while having obtained the most seats didn't obtain a majority. The situation is far from being clear.

As a U.S. citizen, your description of a right-wing dystopian future is, unfortunately, our current reality.

As a French person, I've been closely following the political situation but I know that isn't the case for everyone! Thank you for all the work you do and the awareness you bring to things, your videos are always refreshing and thought provoking <3

As an American, it's pretty cool to get an insider's perspective on European politics. Subscribed, and thanks!

As an activ person campaigning for the NFP in a far-right inclined District, i confirm that feminist activists were massively invested on the battleground, as other militant forces. But the decisive change was the massive number of left-inclined civilians who rose to join the militant groups for this one time, aware of the unprecedented stakes of those elections.

Same in The Netherlands, except the far right Freedom Party did make it to government. I doubt they will last long. Already their ministers were more or less forced to distance themselves from the great replacement theory.

As a queer brown person living in paris, I feel so proud of the french people that they mobilized and stood up against the wrong when it was needed. I have lived in the US, netherlands and germany and now I was almost looking for a country to move to due to increasingly xenoophobic and homophobic environment in france. But french people stayed true to the national value of the country and made me feel increadibly accepted here (altho I know the right wing for 10M + votes) but it is important that the left mobilized when it was dire to do so

15:15 I think this was my first step into getting more political. During the pandemic and Bolsonaro's goverment, a bunch of explicitly leftists streamers started appearing there (most known is Ian Neves/História Pública, who appeared on The Deprogram once). Although there is too much criticism for that strategy, I can swear it was properly effective in catching the attention of a bunch of people who really thought it was the end/"I don't care about politics, I'm apolitical"/I felt alone with my ideas until now/etc.

Omg. I was waiting so much for your comments about the election. The media in my country didn't make anything clear about it. Thanks for the

Please make more videos talking about French politics! I love to read newspapers in French, but sometimes I still feel like I don’t get the whole thing and this video helped me so much to understand the full perspective of the elections! Love your videos ❤

"Narrative" is the word i loathe most in the last few years. It means the story is more important than real life. So it's really refreshing to hear that - as you put it - the left doesn't need narratives because it's real.

The "centre" establishment parties across the world are all united in doing their best to cultivate and promote a fascist future though intentional ineptitude.

We all have our own Macron.

One thing to note is that the French constitution mandates that the election happens between 20 and 40 days after dissolution. So a delay some would consider "normal" (2 or 3 months) is expressly forbidden. This means that the government had three potential dates : 30 June, 7 or 14 July. However the two last dates would have either of the two election rounds fall on bastille day (14 July).

The reason for this is that after world War 2 they wanted to make sure that a new parliament would be quickly selected to counter balance the power of the president and government

I am in Canada and watching the US election. It is very worrying. Yes, I agree the importance of the public institutions such as Canadian Broadcast Corporation. But it gets repeated attacked which make it hard to do their job. And secondly, you are right - when I look at politics and US in particular - election is about emotion not policies. It is an appeal to people emotion. (And there are Canadian politicians who would love to copy Trump).

I often wonder why people are attracted to Trump. People mistake government for entertainment. I think Trump is an avatar for our dark impulses. He is a living example that people can act on their darkest impulses and not have any consequences. Every time he bends the rules and gets away with things - it legitimate they too can act this way without consequences.

20:50 this is the same argument by every sides of politic : "I am rationalist, the others are idealist." By itself, this is not an argument, just à formulation to justify us and discredit our opponents based on our fondamental values. Anyone that is concurring with some values will say it for his party.
