Great video, Tom! But the Camera Control is a real button. It does physically presses down, and it's "accentuated" with haptics.

apperently the problem with light flares in the night has something to do with the fact that Apple uses sapphire to protect the lenses which apparently is less opaque than standard glass and that should be the reason behind the light flares.

12:58 but maybe for an average user too much of settings there is just overkill...I am totally okay to open camera, take photo and video..😊

Hi Tom, would it be possible to have the settings for your two favorite styles, Standard and Amber? Thank you, Tom.

To be honest, Night Photography and Videography are a L for any smartphone. Nighttime Photos and Videos shot on a smartphone are just a far cry from what could be done in decent lighting conditions. You just can't do the same thing, you'd be doing on an actual camera. And the reason is obvious. The sensors are just tiny. And making the lenses look as "big" as they do nowadays, will not hide that fact. Just compare the lenses of todays iPhones to - say - an iPhone 6 / 6S / 7. Heck, the bump of all the whole bump of an iPhone Pro / Pro Max camera setup has the surface area of about 2 professional grade sensors. Yes, they have become better at low light, but you will never get actually good photos in low light. That's why you cannot take 48 Megapixel shots in low light, no matter, what you set your iPhone to. Apple just knows, that the Photos completely fall apart there and the exposure time is already ridiculous. "Shot on an iPhone" is a joke to begin with. While I won't doubt that their Keynotes are shot on an iPhone, it certainly isn't just a handheld iPhone and that's that. Apple has a huge production behind it, with an overkill of professional lighting, to make it work.

In my 16 pro when I m going to zoom in video 1x to 15 x then from 4x to 5 x lens switch with gittter in switching lens... Is this normal ?

If I going in setting and on- lock lens swich - then I got less quality in video zooming

Is this normal or a bug ?

clearly battery performance not good, because you love taking videos in Log format. shooting videos in log drain the battery excessively ..No?

What is "apple log"? Sorry I'm a bit confused. I'm trying to google it but not finding much

What happened at 08:47? It's daytime, right? But the video quality looks so bad, almost like mid-range smartphone videos.

Do you as a photographer know it it would be possible for Apple to use the same type of sensors as the main sensor for all 3 lenses or is something preventing them from doing that apart for cost. I would find a phone with sensors and lenses of similar quality way more useful than having one great main sensor and 2 or 3 not so great sensors.

Lovely review. I would like to hear your opinion for other devices that are popular for thier camera quality like vivo x100 ultra or the new x200 pro

I'd be interested to see your take on this vs the s24 ultra. I've watched a few comparisons and it's not an easy decision, if it was video then sure the iphone hands down but I don't find photography stills quite as clear cut. Hopefully you have a video in the works.

13:51 idk bro maybe you should put in video your usage time and what you 've been using...simply shouldn't drain new battery in half a day..

Only Apple will give you a capture button and still refuse to include a built in pro mode with controls for ISO, shutter speed and manual focus. Very "pro". Video will always be good if not impractical for the amount of storage LOG takes up.

I have the pixel 9P XL and the 16 PM. The pixel beats the iPhone on stills hands down. The photographic styles doesn’t change this fact. And no jokes, the camera button is a gimmick. I have the original apple case and the number of accidental presses a day is annoying.
Then there is the lens flare. I don’t understand why this still a big issue. The spots and floaters especially on night or low light videos is not good at all. Competing devices handle don’t completely eradicate this but handle it much better.
The front camera is also poor in low light. The pixel obliterates on low light selfies.

However on bright sunny conditions the iPhone does take incredible videos and pictures. Class leading videos but amazing but not class leading pictures

I think if not on 17, then on 18th iphone they'll remove the camera button.

Remember, the main sensor (1x) does NOT collect more light. It just processes the image faster (good for 120 slow mo)…and less processing time for 48MP. Otherwise, same image quality was 15 Pro.
