I just ordered an iPhone 16 Pro today. I would like to say it was because of your video, but I just watched it hours after ordering. I had to upgrade because my apps were demanding that I upgraded them, only to get a message that I needed iOS 17 or later, something my poor 8 Plus didn’t support. I love making movies, and I have logged tons of footage with this old phone, and with LumaFusion it has been a fun run. BUT, I am so stoked to try the 16 Pro as soon as it gets here.

Thanks so much your review. I was about to spring for a 16 pro, but didn’t realize that 4K 120 fps is only is available on the main 1x camera. As a bird and equestrian videographer, this makes the decision a bit difficult. The 16 Pro’s ability to record video with greater latitude and better quality audio are features that might actually be more important to me. I’m often recording equestrian events in very challenging lighting conditions with terrible sound.

Enjoyed your video — I was thinking of getting a mirrorless camera for a foray into filmmaking. After your video, I'm very much inclined to start with an iPhone 16 Pro. My question is: do you shoot with a phone cover and lens protectors? Does a cover "get in the way?" I'd like to protect my investment… an iPhone is not exactly cheap (although more affordable than a mirrorless + kit).

I used my 16 Pro in some very noisy areas and some of the audio was great while other audio was a bit garbled and not at all pleasant to hear. Not sure what the issue is as I didn’t change any settings. Overall I like the phone, but I am still adjusting to it, having upgraded from a 12 Pro.
