iPhone 16 Pro review: only one reason to upgrade

preview_player
Показать описание
The new iPhone 16 Pro is a minor improvement over the 15 Pro, but a new camera setting makes for much better photos. Almost all of its highlight features will arrive in future software updates, like the new Apple Intelligence AI features the company says will start slowly arriving in October. All that said, the iPhone 16 Pro does contain one extremely notable camera update, and it’s a good one — although it’s probably not what you think. #Apple #iPhone16 #Technology

What else do you want to know about the camera while we wait for Apple Intelligence?

Nilay didn't play around. I was stunned when he just started off immediately. No introductions; no fluff.

This by far is the most informative iPhone 16 video ive seen today, thank you for talking about the tone mapping.

Respect to Nilay for telling it like it is.

Even though its brutal, this review is VERY good. Its able to to talk about all points whilst being realistic, especially at 9:15

Love that you guys review just what’s available now.
Seen too many products fall short of their promises to trust anything else.

I love these classic, high quality, Verge reviews. I look forward for these type of reviews for other tech products

that slow-mo 4K videos were just mind-blowing. I audibly gasped.

I like this no nonsense type of review. You have enough material in the video to not add fillers and intros. This is how a review should be.

So far, this review is better and more informative than all of the other reviews I’ve seen. Especially the camera portion.

Shout out to my fellow basic iPhone owners who will take all their pictures without adjusting a single setting.

So you’re telling me to hang on to my 13 pro for another year. Okay cool I’m gonna do that :)

Vjeran is the best at reviewing cameras and explaining the new features ! can't wait for the in-depth video

I think Nilay should do all the smartphone reviews. After Dieter, I feel only Nilay reviews feels like The Verge style

The best part about the review is that its convinced me to cancel my 16 Pro order. I originally was justifying it by saying I want to move away from the Pro Max size, but I really can't justify the cost on that alone, and there's nothing I do, that the 16 Pro can do that the 15 Pro can't. So I guess it's just another year of a stupidly big phone and me getting frustrated that Apple doesn't do much to make big iPhones the better experience.

If you have an iPhone 15 Pro or earlier models, here’s how to improve the tone of your photos:

There’s a Tone slider on the 13 Pro (and likely on the 15 Pro as well). Before you take a picture, swipe up in the Camera app. Tap the icon with three overlapping pages.

I recommend sliding the Tone control to the left and slightly increasing the warmth before snapping a photo. I also reduce the exposure by -0.7. This combination noticeably enhances the look of iPhone photos.

As a professional photo retoucher, accuracy and staying true to life is key for me, and these adjustments make a big difference! I hope this helps someone out there, so many models and photographers on set ask me why my iPhone photos are better looking than theres and this is how.
