I saw an ad for an AC on this video :D

Happy wife, happy life... Air flow is key, my Electrician told me while installing my 30A outlet that it's ok if the room is warm just as long as you have airflow.

0:15 Outdoor Sunglasses 😎
4:38 Indoor Sunglasses 🕶️

When you are older, you are going to ask yourself why you were wearing those sunglasses during an indoor video. LOL! ;-)

As a pot grower I know portable ACs are from experience. The hose heats up so much it radiates as much heat as they cool. That's also only 5000 btu, that ain't gonna do much of shit lol. Regular window units are much much better.

AC is better than having to turn off your rigs like some have to do during a heat wave

I built a data center hot aisle, cold aisle design using wood and plastic with a single window unit and it works great!

My home with central AC = $400 month,
My home with central AC + 2 Window units = $200 month!

Just some advice insulate that exhaust line or that will heat up your room and unit will work harder and you won't save a dime.

I bought one on sale for 150 with 8000 BTU and i would recommend to add a inlet pipe.
Otherwhise the room/house has a lower pressure than the outside and warm air will leak in. The compressor in the ac also has to work harder because of the pressure difference. It cuts around 40% of the cooling power. There are plenty of videos on youtube on how to make a second pipe. But it does require a bit of time...

Maybe you should have used the split unit type. It's much more efficient than the type you're using. This type draws cold air and throw it out of the room, the split unit just recycles the air.

You can't cool with ambient air when it's 120F outside. I have to have AC or the rigs just don't run, even outdoors. Yes, it cost me 25% of my earnings, but still getting some income rather than none. I use a 3-tonne mini-split, and at full-blast it can keep the rigs around 90F.

The best one are the 2 hose models one for exhaust and one for intake so your unit is not sucking air from under the door and the rest of the house, that way its not working as hard, since you already have that one I suggest you make sure your bedroom door weatherstripping is on

Bud, one of the most effective ways to reduce mining heat is silent extractor fans with flexible ducting!

I run a mini split I installed myself and its a 1/3 of a 8, 000 btu unit. Room stays at 70F in AZ on solar. Actually pretty fucking cheap tbh

I have LOTS of grow tents. Hell man if you want to pay the shipping on it all you can have a bunch of them.

More advice, those units push out hot air while pulling in air from the room. Which means pulling air in from the house, that has to be coming from outside making them very inefficient. I have a 10k unit in my bedroom/office I modified mine to pull air from outside and exhaust outside. A ton more efficient.

Insulate that exhaust hose. Wrap it with a blanket or something if anything. The heat radiating off from the exhaust hose will counter your cooling if not mitigated. Also the least amount of bends in that hose the better too. Helps with airflow cfm.👌

Yes ac is bad, fans and two windows is the way to go. With a crossflo setup. Just make sure the outdoor air does not directly hit your rigs.. rain could mess your motherboards up. Or worse your gpus or psu

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. It depends on the situation. In my basement there is no other way to cool my farm (no windows in the mining room, no airflow). I also work in a room adjacent to the mining room, so I need cooling too. But yes - the portable ACs use up to 1500W, they are extremely inefficient. I use a split system that only draws 500-700W constantly, it is very efficient and nothing compared to 3KW my farm draws.

Brandon is absolutely correct. I run a portable AC to keep my farm at home cool. And the AC cost me $400+ a month extra. However in my current setup it's my only choice. This guy has great information, and a great person to listen to. Thanks Brandon for all you hard work. JC from Oklahoma.
