DO FLY IN FOR YOUR CRUISE THE DAY BEFORE OR THE DAY OF?🚢

Moral of the story is arrive one day in advance. It's a lot cheaper to spend $120 bucks for a hotel room.Than it is to miss out on a $8500 cruise.

This is exactly why you never fly on the day of your cruise departure.

They tell you ALL THE TIME that you should NOT travel in the day your cruise departs. It is not hard. This isn’t rocket science.

The airlines suck. NEVER fly in the same day as your cruise. NEVER EVER EVER DO THAT.

Many times people have been told never fly in the same day as cruise

No one should be rewarded for poor decisions, it sets unrealistic expectations

People have been warned not to go in the same day as you start to cruise. Go the day before stay the night and then get to the ship that way you won’t be stressed out and you’ll make the cruise.

Incorrect. She did not deserve a refund.

Even if the flight was on time she only had a 1 or two hour margin. No time for even a traffic jam.

They put too much trust in the Airlines. If you spend that kind of money leave a day early. Leaving the same day is just bad planning. I'm glad that it worked out for them. Leave a day early. Never trust that the airlines will get you there on time.

A valuable lesson learned here. This family was very fortunate to get all their money refunded. It could have easily gone the other way. My wife and I always purchase travel insurance and always travel to the cruise port a day early. The only time we didn't was for a cruise out of Mobile. It is a two hour drive from our home in Metairie, LA. Even this could have gone wrong but we didn't have any problems.

Well, she was extremely lucky to get full refunds from both cruise line and airline.
Just can’t understand that it’s absolutely loopy, to fly on the same day as cruise departure.

Even if you have no choice but to fly in the day of, the flight itinerary they chose was too tight in the first place. Two hours to get out of MCO and get to the port? Extremely tight time. If no other choice, take the first flight out. But preferably, always fly out the day before.

This sets a bad precedent to others who then think “gee I can get a full refund!” I’d like to know why the airline owed her anything!

Let's all cry because we were stupid and didn't plan. Then call the media expect the cruise line and airline refund you. She didn't deserve any money back.

We always fly in the day before the cruise! Then you have time to unwind and breathe easy that you there and have all your luggage and are able to enjoy you vacation!!!😊

Flying in on the same day is a NO. And their flight wasn't even as early as it could've been, like a 6:30 am flight. Day before, always, at least.

Cruising 101: Never fly to your cruise port the day of your cruise. Never travel without emergency health insurance. Many people don't realize that their US health coverage will not cover them abroad. Receiving healthcare abroad may bankrupt you.
