Losing a dog is painful. They're family to us.

This really shows the sheer intelligence of dogs.

Dogs do have empathy and a whole other range of emotions that we can pick up on.
The fact that there are evil people out there who abuse these angels is beyond saddening.

They grieve more than we do. We still get back to our busy lives but they just lose the only being they were most attached to.

When my mother passed away both of my dogs always laid staring at our backdoor waiting for her to come in. Also my two birds haven't song a song since that horrible day. Animals are just as compassionate as us when they lose someone they loved.

When my mom’s cat gave birth to her stillborn kitten, she was hide and make these little meowing noises that almost sounded like weeping. I don’t know how else to describe it, but she was devastated. She had two other kittens, and had to push through her grief to take of them. One of the more heartbreaking things I ever witnessed.

Dogs grieve even more then we do if you ask me. I had 2 labs as puppies brother and sister. Jack died at 12 and ginger lived to 16. She was NEVER the same after Jack died, she wouldn't play, barely eat. She just stared down the stairs and looking around in confusion for at least a year. Broke my heart that both my dogs died that day are amazing creatures.

Yes they Do. As Do All Animals. My Mule was in Deep Depression when His Mare Died, For Weeks, or More. He Needed Company, Reassurance, Sweet Talk. Humans are Animals.

When my grandpa passed away his Boston terrier would lay in his seat and cuddle with his blanket, he always lays right next to where he slept. Love you grandpa and Mackey loves you just as much

Recently when my dog died, my other dog had tears in her eyes, and looked away when the dying dog was taking her last breath. They really do have grieving pain as well.

I'm positive that dogs have more feelings than a human, , they are unconditional

And we grieve over their passing as much…sometimes I cry over my beloved pets years after their death…love is love forever

If people only realized that most animals will mourn their loss like we do, feel happy like we do, and remember like we do. The only thing different, is that they forgive way more than we do.
